Great Hotel in Miami

Beautiful Miami resort, Clean and so well kept....Away from the crowds of South Beach but close enough to be there within minutes whenever you want. We had breakfast included and were so glad we did. Restaurant staff was so friendly and Leonardo was just the best! Joseph worked so hard keeping the birds away to ensure everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The beach is beautiful and the wait staff couldn't be more attentive. Would certainly go back to The Palms

Pros: Tiki bar - location -
Cons: in house menu, IMHO
Location: Citibike nearby - liquor store nearby - nice 20 minute walk to more action in art deco area
I really like this hotel. The rooms are nice (docked the room comfort rating only because the side chairs are rigid - like most hotels). Bed was comfy and the place is clean. The back yard is great because you are on the fringe of a city but you can forget that fact due to the palm trees, grass and chaise lounges on the pool deck or the sandy mock beach. if you are a reader, bring a good book and grab a chair by the covered back porch. Last year I arrived before check in and spent the afternoon lounging there catching up on e-mail - very quiet. Both years there has been a wedding there on Saturday. Not a huge deal. The main part of South Beach is a mile south and I usually walked it in the AM and PM for exercise/meals. A Citibike station is within yards of the front door. I wasn't a fan of the in house restaurant menu but what I did get I liked (burger, fish tacos, breakfast buffet). There are more interesting places to eat IMHO. If I go back to South Beach and don't stay here it will be to try something different and be closer to the action in the art deco area. I was tempted on this trip to go to a more expensive resort but if you plan on leaving the room for most of the day, the Palms is a good balance of quality and value.

Pros: Casual, comfortable vibe Attentive, friendly staff Lovely setting Great food
This is now my favorite hotel in Miami Beach. Lovely setting. It is very nicely done, with everything maintained well and comfortable. It is not super-fancy, but I liked that. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. The service on the beach was good. It's great to walk through the palm trees by the pool to the beach, where the staff promptly set you up with beach chairs and an umbrella, and then bring food and drinks. I thought the prices were reasonable given the quality and level of service. We had planned to go out to eat, but it was so nice there that we decided to stay in. We were glad we did so. The dinner was excellent. One note: There was one minor problem with the room (the battery in the safe was dead), but when we called, someone came up immediately. No hotel can promise rooms that are always perfect -- what's nice is when they fix things so promptly!

We had a great stay. Sadly we had to leave a day early due to cancelled flights back to New York. We are hoping that Expedia refunds a night stay due to this storm.

Birthday Weekend

Pros: close to the airport beach service
Location: We stayed on site for most of our trip. We did enjoy walking/running on the boardwalk
My sister in law and I decided to take our husbands some place warm to celebrate their January birthdays. We wanted a location that had easy airport access, was on the beach, offered amenities to pamper ourselves for the weekend. Well, we found the perfect location for us. We all had a wonderful time and the guys enjoyed their birthday celebration.
