Posted Nov 17, 2015

Nice hotel close to night life and beachPosted Nov 16, 2015
Pros: very friendly and accommodating staff
Location: Very convenient to the beach, restaurants and night life.
We had a wonderful stay at The Tides. The staff and location were awesome. It was a bit loud at night with the bar next door, however it is very upbeat and exciting and no one needs to go to bed early in South Beach!

Is not the same as it used to be....Posted Oct 29, 2015
Pros: The location is great for walking around South Beach.
Cons: Service has slipped. There was no pool service and limited front door service during our visit.
We stayed at The Tides October 23-27, 2015. This was our third stay at this property. The last time we stayed here was five years ago in October 2015. My first indication that it wasn't how I remembered the service was when we got out of the taxi. In the past, someone would have been there to help us out of the taxi and to take our bags up the stairs to the front desk. This was not the case on this trip. We got to the front desk and we checked in. There was someone available then to help with the bags. The checkin was easy. However, when we got to our room house keeping was still there cleaning. So we went back downstairs to the front desk. They apologized right away and got us a new room in five minutes or so. So we went to this second room. Everything in the room was exactly how we remembered it. The rooms are large and the decor is very appropriate for the hotel. However, my experience is that some of the furniture has become very worn and is showing its age. Also, the pillows were very lacking as far as type and ability to sleep comfortably in my experience. Outside of the room, we found the card reader for the elevators to be difficult to use at times. Also, the pool area had always been just a great place to relax. We could see the pool from outside our room. At 2:00 on Saturday, the pool had not been cleaned and the loungers did not have towels. I called the front desk and they said if we go down there they would send someone. Service has changed.

Beautiful Hotel steps from beachPosted Oct 14, 2015
The Tides is a must stay if you're in South Beach. The rooms are chic and well kept, the view of the beach and the strip is amazing. Although the strip was busy and quite rowdy given it was Miami Carnival weekend, the scene at The Tides was more subdued and perfect for those wanting to be away from the fray. Food was okay, lots of other options available close by, but drinks were discounted and very delicious. I recommend the Miami Mojito.

Bra personalPosted Sep 25, 2015

The TidesPosted Sep 22, 2015
Pros: The size of the room was very accommodating for two people. Nice bathroom and very soft bed.
Cons: No complaints
Location: Perfect location. No need to walk far because you are situated between it all
I've stayed at many hotels along South Beach and for the dollar you could not get a nicer hotel. It's situated right in the middle of it all and right across the street from the beach. The staff are very accommodating and pleasant. When your searching for hotels the pics displayed are much larger than the actual however it was opposite at The Tides. The room is very spacious and neat. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make the pool. With the free beach lounge chair passes I was able to save $40.00 a day. Also, to note I'm in the kitchen and bath industry and did notice the name brand fixtures. Nice touch!

Hotel nicer than the areaPosted Sep 21, 2015
Cons: Nothing, the entire hotel would have to be physically moved to improve it.
The non stop loud noise from the bars in the area negated any positive aspects of this hotel.

Beautiful hotel; great SoBe locationPosted Sep 15, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff; clean comfortable room, location, pool area.
Cons: I wish they would add a sound-muffling, "black-out" shade to the windows, but I guess that isn't art deco.
Location: It is right on Lummus Park, in the heart of SoBe. There is everything to do.
I absolutely loved this hotel. From the moment I was greeted by the staff at the entrance, I knew it would be a good stay. The decor in the rooms, the huge bath, the walk in closet -- what is not to love. Also the pool area is perfect. The only downside is that with the Ocean Drive location, it can be very loud at times. I was trying to take a nap while the bar next door hosted a drag queen competition/show? outside on the sidewalk. Earplugs are a "must"!

We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit with us. It is true that the establishment next door can be a little boisterous at times, but South Beach is known for it's nightlife. We hope that you will visit us again when your travels return you to Miami Beach, and recommend us to your friends. Warmest Regards
