In need of updates and not for family

Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms, furniture, beds and mattreses, TVs, toileteries
Location: Quite a few interesting things for the children in 40 mile radius. Much better food options pubs/ indian and chinese restaurants in the nearby towns
Arrived for a 2 night family stay, having booked the hotel when it said 'only one family room left'. Don't believe this as they have only one family room. The location is good, but as mentioned by other reviewer, most of the postives end here. Although, reasonably clean, conditions of the beds and mattresses are quite poor as mentioned by others . Room TVs are antique with poor reception and no mobile reception or wi fi in the room at all. For the price per night, there is no justification for having such poor beds/TVs/ mattresses. We could not sleep that night. The bunk bed was very wobbly and children could/would not sleep in it. We asked for another family room, but there is no other room. We told the owners that we want to check out after the first night, but were told that we still have to pay for the second night as well. We left after the first night having paid for the 2 nights. Expedia are investigating this. Do not eat in the restaurant as the prices are quite high with poor quality food. Two of our dishes were microwave cooked food that you can easily get much cheaper in the supermarkets. Much better and reasonably priced options are available nearby if you have a car. No children menus at all. So, avoid if you can.

Beautiful location, bedroom needs to have a socket near kettle and to use hair dryer without having to drag it across bathroom door for a mirror. Bedroom and lounge in need of update. Bar and restaurant friendly especially Hannah who kept us entertained .

Pros: It was very welcoming and friendly and they made one feel very much at home.
Cons: The entrance to the hotel from the road approach could be better displayed.
Location: There are a great deal of attractions i.e. Narrow gauge Railways, Seaside locations, Visitor Centres etc.
The location of the hotel was ideal for exploring the locality and the various visitor locations of which there are many in the area.

Quiet location hotel

Pros: Quiet location
Cons: Room facilities, e.g. either remove the TV in the family room or replace it with a decent size TV (it was too tiny and perched up too high).
Location: The location was quiet. Good access to walks and coast and other attractions.
We booked a family room for a long weekend. There was plenty of room for a family of four (2 adults and 2 under 14s). Room was tidy but had very basic facilities - our children are accustomed to better. The breakfast time of 0800-0900hrs was too early for our children and one did not take hotel breakfast for the entire stay. Would recommend the hotel to visitors without children.

We only stayed one night which was really good. It is ideal for short stays to see much of what mid Wales has to offer

Pros: very friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Better wifi coverage.
Location: Very close to a noisy main road on one side but a beautiful riverside garden on the other side. Convenient to get to mountains and beaches.
I asked for a downstairs room for my elderly Mum and the request was actioned. Mum was very happy with her walk in shower and handrails, but didn't appreciate the men (other guests) outside her window making phone calls early in the morning! I was given a double room at no extra cost and beds were very comfortable.

Nice guest house very close to the river

Cons: A shower in all the rooms
A very nice guest house, we had the last room which was a twin but the beds where part of the wall so they couldn't be pushed together if you wanted to, but that was advertised on Expedia when we booked. The food and drink in the bar was a bit over priced for the area and the room didn't have a shower only a bath. There is a common room which is next to the bar and restaurant and provides a nice space to sit.

Pros: The bush location backing on to the river.
Our Navman GPS took us to the wrong place, just up the road from the hotel. The hotel didn't have credit card facilities - I don't know if that was temporary or not.

Where else could you book on-line late in the day, arrive later that night to be greeted by the owner insisting that he would be pleased to open the kitchen and cook anything we desired from the menu. This sums up our visit. Very comfortable, very friendly, and delicious as well. We would stay again.
