Overpriced for an extremely basic room

Posted Feb 3, 2017 on Hotels
I book this hotel as recommended by a local supplier. I found it overall extremely basic and not very comfortable. First thing I noticed when entered the room is that I had been assigned one overlooking the main road, no double-glazing windows. Double bed consists in 2 singles put together with single duvets. When I entered the bathroom there is a walk in shower, no shelf to leave your toiletries bag, not even a shelf to leave the shampoo. Oddly there were 2 complimentary shampoo tubes but no shower gel. If you want a hairdryer you have to ring reception and come down to pick it. If you manage to switch on the small tv (with a very annoying remote that hardly work) you'd better speak Danish. Not a single channel in English, not even CNN. Next morning I went down for breakfast, very small number of choices of average quality, other than the orange juice. THAT is truly awful, like tainted water or a sort of kids' drink, served from a typical refreshment dispensing machine. Last experience that morning, while I was sitting in my underwear in front of the laptop between packing and replying an email, sign of 'privacy please' hanging outside...the door opened and the room service lady stared at me and started apologizing profusely. Maybe knocking the door could help? At nearly $115 USD/106€ for one night I don't think it is good value for money.

Nice Hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Great hotel situated near the railway station and town centre. Spacious rooms, great breakfast and free on site parking. EV charging point also present. Only downside was there was no AC and room was hot. St the end of July. Opening window meant traffic noise, if in road side. A fan from reception helped. Would stay again st the hotel, as it was an easy hours drive to Legoland.

Unexpected small town gem

Posted Apr 26, 2016
Pros: For a European hotel, or any hotel really, our room was huge. Easy for us to spread out and relax which is what we wanted to do when we arrived.
Cons: The beds were good, not great. Could be a little softer. Didn't stop us from sleeping in them though.
Location: Quaint town, visited Frederecia across the bridge the next day
We only stayed one night but we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Three of us traveling so we required an extra bed and what we had was a huge room with a door opening to a garden. A month from now everything will be fully green and flowers in bloom so I am sure it will be beautiful. We ate dinner in the hotel in their well appointed dingin room and with a very attentive staff. There was a buffet that night which was very good and of course the traditional breakfast buffet in the morning. Breakfast was included in the rate as was parking- plenty of parking. We walked around the old part of town before we left which was interesting. It's on the water so there are some pretty old buildings there. Not far from the little bridge to get to Jutland

Gorgeous building

Posted Jul 15, 2015 on Hotels
This hotel is a beautiful building that used to be a hospital of some sort. The rooms are spacious and attractive, the building itself is lovely, and the grounds are nice. Out of five different hotels that we stayed in while in Denmark, this is the only one we took photos of.

Pros: Terrific breakfast buffet included in room cost. Hotel is easy to navigate to from the highway.
Enjoyed my stay here. I was here for two nights while geocaching in the area.

Uncomfortable...but no other option...

Posted Nov 5, 2014 on Hotels
Need to find a way to get a shower without getting the whole floor wet... Bedding is really uncomfortable...a double bed is really a double very uncomfortable beds...and in the morning, they will be for sure apart from each other so you might wake up hanging on your legs in one side and the body on the other side as they beds move apart... Cleaning is not really cleaning...is changing the towels..

Welcoming staff

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: The breakfast and breakfast room. Our room was very spacious and had a beautiful view of the front gardens.
We stayed at the hotel after a long day at Legoland. The staff were wonderful when we arrived and had all the room keys ready to go. The breakfast, which was included, was one of the best during our entire trip through Scandinavia. I wish we could've had more time to explore the area.
