Under renovation

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: complimentary breakfast
Cons: price should be lower for area and what is offered
Location: location is nothing to write home about, it's a bed and breakfast, nothing much to do in area
Hotel should advice that it is under renovation when guest is making reservation

Hotel needs work

Posted Aug 17, 2016
Pros: The coffee.
Cons: Customer service, the air conditioning and the breakfast.
This hotel was obviously in the mist of a renovation. While it was starting to look "pretty" the AC and morning breakfast are in need of help. The first room we were given was musty smelling and humid despite the wall AC running full blast as evidenced by the coolness in the room. The wallpaper was buckling in room and sheetrock above the light in the bathroom was split most likely due long term moisture problems. With some coaxing I was able to change rooms but the first response was no other rooms available. The next room I was shown smelled also but this time of body odor. Took this room but was afraid to unpack my clothes until I did some freshening on my own. I ended up purchasing some Frebreeze, sprayed the room and opened the window and door to my hotel room for about 30 minutes to create a cross breeze. This helped but it took about 4 days before the smell in the room normalized. On the upside, our room attendant, Michelle, was great. She tried really had hard to make us feel welcomed and followed through with any requests I made. She even made towel animals for us, which I thought was very sweet. Only other comment I have about the room was there were NO safes available for valuables. I thought this was a standard for hotels of this level. Lastly, the complimentary breakfast. This eggs were nasty, the orange juice was watered down orange drink and the oatmeal was only available as instant. We ended up paying outside for breakfast . The only thing good was the coffee

Never Again - Find Somewhere Else

$260 for a suite for one night. Price gouging due to room availability in town for a hockey tournament. Dirty bathroom (toilet/shower), smoke detector hanging from wires ("still functioning"), blackout curtains ripped, room in overall not great shape. We got a 6:30AM wake up call that we never requested, so someone overslept due to hotels incompetence. Watched three people almost fall due to water in the hallway coming from the pool, no wet floor signs to be found anywhere. For half that price, maybe, but this was unacceptable.

front desk service was unprofessional. Not staffed for the three times we needed front desk assistance. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for someone to come, and then was told we were lying about how long we waited there.

The bath/shower was not actually handicap accessible! Bars do not make it handicap friendly. There was no shower seat/chair and I cannot stand long enough to shower nor can I sit in a tub and have any hope of ever getting out! That was the only disappointment! We have stayed in hotels/motels (even the cheap ones) where shower seats were provided or the entire shower was open enough to wheel in a person if need be. I think it is something to keep in mind for future remodels!

Food was great, rooms clean but bed was as hard as a rock. I stayed for 2 nights my back was toast halfway thru the first night. Replace the beds I would give it 5 stars!!!
