Hotel needs work

This hotel was obviously in the mist of a renovation. While it was starting to look "pretty" the AC and morning breakfast are in need of help. The first room we were given was musty smelling and humid despite the wall AC running full blast as evidenced by the coolness in the room. The wallpaper was buckling in room and sheetrock above the light in the bathroom was split most likely due long term moisture problems. With some coaxing I was able to change rooms but the first response was no other rooms available. The next room I was shown smelled also but this time of body odor. Took this room but was afraid to unpack my clothes until I did some freshening on my own. I ended up purchasing some Frebreeze, sprayed the room and opened the window and door to my hotel room for about 30 minutes to create a cross breeze. This helped but it took about 4 days before the smell in the room normalized. On the upside, our room attendant, Michelle, was great. She tried really had hard to make us feel welcomed and followed through with any requests I made. She even made towel animals for us, which I thought was very sweet.
Only other comment I have about the room was there were NO safes available for valuables. I thought this was a standard for hotels of this level.
Lastly, the complimentary breakfast. This eggs were nasty, the orange juice was watered down orange drink and the oatmeal was only available as instant. We ended up paying outside for breakfast . The only thing good was the coffee
