"Great location on the East Side"
Was in NYC for one night for work. Got to the Gansevoort and noon and they were able to check us in early. The room was modern, clean and spacious. High ceilings for NYC in my experience. Staff was friendly, professional, and helpful.

"Excellent stay in a lovely hotel"
We could not have chosen better than The Library Hotel for our stay. Centrally located and within walking distance or a short subway ride of all amenities and tourist attractions. We had the Health & Beauty Suite - it was lovely - light and airy, good floor space for a city hotel, very comfortable and extremely clean, with good linen, and a great shower. It would have been nice to have had access to a mini bar in the room, or the option to order drinks to be delivered to our room, but it wasn't far to go to get a drink from the Reading Room or the Rooftop Bar. The only downside to our stay was the heating/air conditioning system in our room was very noisy - the temperature dropped while we were in NYC and we needed to make the room warm and using this unit was the only way to heat the space. It was very noisy to sleep with it on, but if you turned it off, the temperature in the room dropped quickly, due to the amount of windows. Excellent staff and reception team - housekeeping was brilliant (Maylina went the extra mile for us) - we would absolutely recommend this hotel to our family and friends, and we will book again on our next visit to NYC.

"Good but ask for higher floor"
Website says there might be an additional tax and there wasn't. That was great! Site said we would have a view and we didn't. Only really high floors have a view. I still like the room and location, just REALLY disappointed by no view as promised. Only 4 rooms per floor too. Had signed up for 2 people in the room and we only had one bathrobe. Never did get the internet to work in the room. It is a short wire and not wireless. Not fan in the bathroom. Doorman is more of a hotel front desk than a doorman. All that aside, I liked the room. Each room had a huge window with a blackout blind and a privacy blind. Lot's of storage. King bed was super comfortable. Queen bed was a hide-a-bed. Front desk staff was super helpful. Nice workout room in basement. Good water pressure in the bathroom. Kitchen was nice. Grocery store was less than 1 block away.

"Luxurious affordability"
I decided to stay a little further to Times Square than I have on my last two visits to NYC, to switch things up. I wasn't too familiar with the location of this hotel, but it turned out it was perfect for us. The view from our west-facing window was ah-mazing! Overlooking the St. Patrick's cathedral, even though I'm not into churches, was spectacular. The hotel was located a reasonably short walk to Central Park, Times Square, the Empire State building - it's sort of in the middle of all those. Didn't have a chance to check out the gym - too busy out walking! The bar was underwhelming - it's felt stuffy and old, like it didn't match the rest of the hotel. The nut mix was pretty good though. The bed was comfy, the pillows s-o-f-t. Very. The water pressure was good, the toiletries nice. There are no ice machines in the hotel - annoying - hubby likes a beer at night. You have to order ice, then you have to tip. The hotel is beautiful, really a magnificent space. It's one block from Starbucks (but isn't everything in NYC? lol )

"A centrally located hotel"
I have been staying here for the last 10 years, although haven't been back for the last 5! Knowing I had to have a short stay in NY, the Elysee was a natural choice. It's very centrally located and I know the rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is comprehensive and the 'happy hour' of drinks and nibbles in the evening makes a welcome end to busy days. Everything was as I remembered it and it was good to see staff that I remembered from years past. I loved my stay- the bed was even more comfortable than I remembered it! - was happy to be back there and will look forward to going back.
