Nice hotel but needs to come into the 21st century

Posted Sep 1, 2017
I do love the suites with full kitchen but with that said no dishes or other offered. As a Prefer Member no upgrades offered despite hotel half empty. No on demand. Many of us in our party had suites but could not order the Maywheather fight or even a movie in our rooms. Could not order your car from room; had to go down and wait. Could not check out from room. Room service was slow.

Love the location!!

Everytime I come to see a show at The Fox we always stay here. Never had any problems or complaints. I must say I do enjoy the fact that security has been increased. Adding the use of the key card in the elevator was a great idea.

The Georgian Terrace Hotel is in a "classic" building and suffers from the same issues a classic car would. The location and overall aesthetic of the hotel is great but missing some of what you would expect in a newer model car. I stayed in a "premium" room. It had a king bed and was supposed to be rather large according to the listed square footage. The room was extremely average and all the square footage was in a ridiculously sized closet. The closet was like half the size of the main room. The room felt cheap. Cheap laminate floors. Cheap shower head. The bathroom door hinges squeaked so loudly I couldn't use it without waking up my wife. The gap underneath the door leading to the hallway was like an inch or more so at night it was like a flashlight in a pitch black room. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. This probably only happens in the summer but in the top floors near the elevators it's unbearably hot. Like 80+ degrees hot. The atrium causes all the hot air to rise and collect at the top. When the hotel is busy, it might take a while to catch an elevator from the top floors. You just wait there, baking. The rooftop pool looks much nicer in pictures. The view is great but it's not a resort-ish pool. It's a standard old pool with about 7 chairs around it. There is no bar up there. The staff at the hotel was helpful and polite but nothing to rave about. The WiFi connection was fast and reliable. No password needed.

historical hotel

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: historical significance, architecture, outdoor patio seating, large room
Cons: Make note in hotel description about the Theater impact...traffic, crowds, restaurant reservations needed well in advance.
Location: Location is downtown and we encountered a lot of traffic. Next door Theater patrons created parking and dining issues.
I chose the hotel because it was an Expedia VIP/double points hotel in the area I needed to be. It is across from the Fox Theater, and that had a negative impact on our stay.... we arrived just as the afternoon show was over and there were cars and people everywhere which made it difficult to get onto hotel property and to park in their garage as the Theater patrons were utilizing the hotel parking garage. The main restaurant was not available to us for dinner as they were full of reservations for the evening Theater crowd. Our 2 BR suite was great until we heard rushing water in the middle of the night...water was pouring in from the bathroom ceiling due to a busted water heater above us. They did promptly move us to another room but we definitely did not have a good nights rest. The front desk did comp our entire room without me even having to ask, which I very much appreciated. They said they would contact Expedia to make sure I received a full refund of my prepaid room, which they did the same day. Under the circumstances, I think the staff did the best they could.

This hotel is a beautiful historic building with a great location, close to many restaurants and downtown. The staff at this hotel is exceptional! Very friendly and very professional! The restaurant, although a little expensive, is absolutely delectable. We stay at this location every time we come to Atlanta. Hotel staff very welcoming and friendly. Hotel is lovely, and in a good location within walking distance of some great attractions, such as Ponce Market and The Beltline which is a great way to spend an afternoon. Would recommend.

Pros: saltwater pool
Cons: enforce the smoking policy...it was obvious the security guard and the bellman smelled it too
Location: Lots of things close by. Places to eat and Centennial Park wasn't far.
The hotel was beautiful and the rooftop saltwater pool was great. We stayed for 4 nights and the only issue we had fell on our last night there. We came back to our room and there was a terrible smell in our room...(an unmentionable of course). The air ducts in this hotel are connected so whomever was smoking the unmentionable was close enough to our room to fill ours too. This is a non-smoking hotel. The hotel offered to move us but honestly....it would not have made a difference and it was after ten:/ We topped off the trip with our parking pass not working and of course this meant trudging back into the hotel...and that can be a difficult task. Overall, I was satisfied and will go back. However it might be to big a price to have my kids exposed to the unmentionable smell again. Oh and don't count on be able to eat at the onsite restaurant. I went down Saturday afternoon to get something to eat while the guys were out and the greeter at the restaurant informed me that there would be no seats available that evening because they were all booked for the people attending the FOX theater. There were many tables open at that time and maybe booked , but I feel if your going to advertise having an on-site restaurant you might need to tell people you need a reservation. Well, I am done with my rant! Like I said, I will stay again, but, I will be looking not to pay so much.

Thank you for sharing your experience at The Georgian Terrace. We are delighted you found our roof top salt water pool a relaxing respite. We appreciate your observations and would like to inform you that we adhere to a strict 'no smoking' policy. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We have also taken a note of your concern with regard to reservation of our on-site restaurant. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. Sincerely, J. Mark Williams, General Manager

July 15, 2017 stay

Posted Jul 20, 2017
Pros: Location, comfort
Cons: It would have been helpful to know in advance that The Livingston Restaurant was closed for a private event.
Location: Great location, across street from Fox Theatre
Enjoyed my stay for a Fox Theatre show. Staff were cordial, friendly, and helpful.
