Posted Sep 26, 2017
The hotel accommodation was quite spacious and clean did not have much to do with the staff but the ones I met were all courteous My only complaint is that they should take in consideration your travel time when checking out my flight was 4.30 pick up at 1.30 and we had to leave the room by 10.00 we had 2 children who weren't Well and actually the adults also was unwell. I would Dona Lola to look in to this

Good Hotel near to beach

Posted Sep 23, 2017
Pros: It's location, proximity to shops/restaurants/bars. Staff generally very helpful, speak good English, very welcoming. Apart from main pool, it's quiet
Cons: The two pools are insufficient to hold the number of guests (even in September) so both are crowded and main pool often noisy.
Location: Pools, beach, golf (car/taxi to it), shopping, beach spas.
Dona Lola is roughly half-way between Marbella & Fuengirola, neighboured by a sizeable shopping complex across the main road (over a bridge), and has a large area beside it with a selection of restaurants/bars to suit most tastes. Half apart/hotel & half residential, it's situated in beautiful, well-tended, mature gardens with small decorative pools, pine trees, exotic plants & palms. Main pool near sea, has a children's area, surrounds a bistro type restaurant (La Plaza Beach) which provides entertainment every evening; in addition there is an adult-only pool further back in the grounds. Work in 2016/17 has improved both cafe -La Toscana (adjacent Reception) & restaurant (as above) which now have pleasant indoor seating areas for drinks/snacks in addition to indoor/outdoor seating for meals. Catering in both locations has also improved since Sept/2016 - understand this now outsourced(?), though quality of each varies despite identical menus. Rooms are spacious and spotless & appear to be freshly decorated.

3rd Visit this year

Posted Sep 13, 2017
Pros: Everything, but location and friendliness are top of the list.
Location: We always rent a car, there is so much to explore, an area with a wealth of scenic beauty and so much history and culture
Love. love, love this place! Feels like home, but with sunshine and I don't have to cook. With so many places to choose from we eat out every night. Hope to make another visit very soon.

Will say hotel was ok but sprinklers comes on at around 5:40 or 6am and always wakes as up my daughter struggled to sleep because of it it's hot at night can't use the aircon at night due to extra electricity charges.

lovely spacious apt, clean, next to great amenties

Posted Aug 25, 2017
Pros: situation, cleanliness and great staff on reception
Cons: sun beds on the beach area to allow more space at the pool area
Location: calla de mijas, great market days, good restaurants and lovely beach, great new board walk from near hotel all the way to call de mijas
had a great holiday, enjoyed the dona lola very much, found resort prices for food and drink pricey but plenty of supermarkets near by. next to cpmplex 9 restaurants ate in 5, all very nice. only issue was pool area extremely busy sun beds practically on top of each other but it is high season. would love to return.

Lovely location and resort. Apartments could do with updating but still comfortable and clean. Pool was very cooling and relaxing although trying to get a position and getting a sun bed required military organising and precision, which other families got this off to a fine art. The queuing to get in to the pool area to get a bed and sun shade, which you had to do before it opened to get a position, bed and sun shade was disappointing as others took advantage of relaxed rules about saving sun beds..... apart from that everything was lovely.
