Convenient but lacked modern requirements. Not 4*

This Hotel is totally dated for today's modern traveller. No plug points to charge phones unless unplug lights. Wi-Fi only worked in first few rooms on each floor. Sky TV only works in a few rooms too. We had to open the fuse box to get power each nite sometimes taking 10-15 minutes. We moved room 4 times so we got a good feel for them. Eventually comfortable and the staff did try their best to help with what they had to be fair to them. I did have to help property services get the room working as he was struggling and I had learned from previous 4 rooms already! Eventually had wi-if and Sky in room and was reasonably comfortable here, lucky had spare rooms. We do think a good sense of humour is required to stay here as at one point we were getting annoyed and just had to laugh it off. You actually feel bad for demanding the service promised but I am glad we did. My husband said to me, Basil was a bit grumpy but Polly was helpful and Manuel did try his best. As I said you do require a sense of humour. Location was great for us, but because of plug and connectivity situation would avoid staying here again. It's not 4 stars in my opinon but I think 50 years ago it must have been a Grand Hotel.
