Absolutely surpassed our expectations. The hotel was built in 1864, I know this because the concierge showed us to our rooms and along the way told us the history of the hotel. The staff is fantastic! We had breakfast every morning, so easy to start the day as a family of 5.

Worst stay ever. The restaurant is under construction and it is loud all day long throughout the entire hotel. I ordered a car to pick me up at the airport from the hotel. My flight was delayed from the United States, therefore I could not make my connecting flight. The hotel still charged me €200 for the car, even though I told them more than an hour before my scheduled arrival time that my flight was delayed. Then the hotel booked my train tickets to Lake Como and sent us to the wrong train station. That cost us €45 and two hours of our time.
Amazing place with authentic vibe and a lot of history.

Too small of a room. Very old building. You can smell the kitchen all over the lobby and elevators and hallways.

We were back in Milan very briefly and stayed at the Grand Hotel. The staff were all wonderful and friendly -- first rate. The hotel itself could use a bit of a sprucing up in spite of its historic significance. The room was spacious but ultimately not terribly comfortable, particularly the bed. Great location. But.

Everything was good apart from that I would have expected to have a better room compared to the comfort deluxe room which my friends was staying in, since ı paid 50USD more per nigth.
Ontop of this there was a confusion in the check in as I had paid for breakfast including rate, whcih they said only 2 days was included and the other 2 days not in the check in. But at the check out no breakfast was charged.

We only stayed one night and I wished it were more. The hotel is gorgeous, the service impeccable and the food in the Don Carlos restaurant delicious. The hotel location is a short and easy walk to the Duomo and also close to Linate airport.
We were in Northern Italy for the White Truffle season and recommend trying the White Truffle tasting menu at the the hotel - wonderful!
