Hilton bate and switch

Arrived at the Hilton in Milan at noon this morning. They said our room was not ready but for €19 we could have another comparable room now. We said no problem, we can wait for our room to be ready, but left our luggage with them. We just arrived back at the hotel at 8:15pm and they said they had a problem with our reservation! No room for us!!!! We were not happy! They found us a room at another hotel, The Glam. It is nowhere as nice as the Hilton! The price looks about the same, we are exhausted and my husband compared The Glam to what he pictures a hostile to be like. They tried to blame the reservation problem with Expedia. But then, how could we be given the choice of a room at noon for an additional €19 and return later to no room?
