Nice hotel in good location

Posted Jan 11, 2017
I chose the hotel primarily for the location near Porta Garibaldi but it is very well connected to the subway and tram system with direct lines to the city centre every 10 or 15 minutes. I actually walked to the Duomo one day and it is a pleasant 30 minutes stroll past shops and cafes. Bars and shops nearby are much cheaper than in the more touristic areas. As I was traveling solo I booked a single bed economy room which was small but not cramped, and very warm even in December. Toilet was clean and water pressure good. Do note that it is a historic hotel so if you need to plug in multiple things to charge at the same time that might be an issue. WiFi however was good and reliable throughout my stay. Staff was always present and friendly. Breakfast is rather uneventful, but you can get an excellent freshly made cappuccino. They kindly held my luggage after check out so I could explore a bit before my train. I have already recommended San Guido hotel to my sister and her boyfriend, they booked a double room for two nights and reported having a pleasant stay.

A great little gem!!!

the exterior of this hotel doesn't prepare for how quaint it is on the inside. Parking can be a challenge. The gentleman at the front desk is a very helpful and kind man. He will help you with any enquiries. There is also the tram #4 which stops directly in front to bring you to the Duomo! Also wLking distance is a via como which is a great little area with all great outdoor restaurants! All in all a great stay!!!

Old, comfortable, Tram at dorway

Excellent and very nice lady in charge of breakfast. Old but very comfortable hotel. Very close (5blocks) to Garibaldi train station that has every 30 minutes a train (Trainord) to Malpensa Airport for 12E. You need to validate the train ticket BEFORE you board the train.

Quirky little hotel. Good value, very convenient near trams/metro and nice walk into centre. Single room was comfortable and staff were lovely.

Friendly family run hotel

Posted Oct 2, 2015
I chose this hotel based on it's proximity to Porte Garibaldi station (<10 mins walk away) but it was also close to the centre of Milan with great restaurants nearby. The hotel has been run by the same family for 100+ years and all the hotel staff are very friendly (special thanks to Sandro!). I had a single room which was an ok size with a small ensuite. The furniture was a little more shabby than chic but the room was clean and relatively comfortable.

Nice hotel in outskirts of city

Posted Sep 28, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel was more than adequate for our overnight stay before flying back home. Not much to look at from the outside but it was nicely decorated in antiques and the room was a nice size. It is located outside of the city center but there is tram service very close to the hotel for access to historic sites. Breakfast was good
