"What we were after but probably not for everyone"
Easy to find, plenty of parking then easy check in. So far so good! We had a nice hotel room, which was clean and bright with cooking facilities which is what we were after. The downside of having a catering room is that they didn't clean the room or change the towels during our stay. I also asked for an extra pillow at the front desk and was told I would have to ask the maid (who i didn't see at any point) which was a shame. It was lucky that I have an overseas data package as the wifi was shockingly poor and they wanted to charge us for it. We wanted a base outside of the city from which to explore the region and this hotel was perfect for us. The bed was also the comfiest I have ever had away from the UK.

Our booking was for one night but from the moment we saw this hotel knew it could be something special - and it was, we extended our stay to 9 nights.
If you are looking for a formulaic modern hotel go somewhere else.
If you are looking for something truly different in a class of its own La Maison Blanche is a gem.
We had a large room initially but when we decided to stay on were upgraded to a larger room with a huge terrace over looking the wonderful gardens at the same rate.
The room was large with a small fridge, flat screen TV, large comfortable double bed, reading lights a desk and chair.
Ample wardrobe and storage space. The bathroom was large with a full bath and complimentary toiletries every day.
The rooms and bathrooms are not modern but they are cared for and very, very clean.
The house keeping couldn't be faulted - sheets and towels changed daily, the room cleaned to the highest standard.
The location is out of the city centre with free on site parking - getting into town takes 10 minutes by car.
Be warned Montpellier centre is a nightmare for parking.
Supermarkets, pharmacy, shops and restaurants are near to the hotel- there is a hotel restaurant which opens in the summer.
Breakfast is 12 euros but neither of is eat breakfast so I can't review it but the coffee smelt delicious in the mornings.
The welcome and the staff here are so friendly - a happy team and it shows.
For a unique experience this hotel is at the top of our list.
We can not fault it.
