"What a place!! John and Karen are such greats hosts! They had the cabin all ready to go when we arrived. The cabin was filled with everything you could ask for and more. There also were tasty treats on the table upon our arrival. The cabinets were stocked with just about anything we need. But we went to the grocery store, bought some hamburger rolls, soda, chips, and stopped at the local meat market for hamburgers and used the outdoor charcoal grill. The ice machine on the counter worked great and fast. It was a very relaxing place with a great porch to sit and watch the deer grazing in the field. They also provided some deer pellets so you can put them In the trough and watch the deer come running in. The outdoor fire place was amazing! The trails around the property were so nice and it was a short walk to the Colorado river. The only problem, I wish I brought was my fishing pole! Enjoy!!"

"The ranch was scenic as wildlife and wildflowers were plentiful. The ranch proprietors ensured that our stay was excellent. The prepared meals were amazing. "

"John and Karen are the nicest, most considerate hosts we have ever encountered when renting a home. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable experience, especially for our three-year-old. They provided snacks, including homemade cookies, and the house was very well-stocked with anything you could need. They also provided food so that we could feed the various types of deer on the property. Shortly after we had arrived, we learned that John had brought by a turtle which my son then named Pickle (a real highlight for my son!), and the next day John took us around on his “tractor” which was also a lot of fun. If the amazing hosts weren’t enough, the property is incredible and teeming with wildlife. At this time of year there were also beautiful wildflowers everywhere. We walked around several times, including to the river (next time we will bring our canoe!), but it was also nice to just relax in the backyard. This really is a special place! I am probably forgetting a lot of stuff, but I will say if you are considering booking this place (or Andi’s Cabin next door), then do it! You won’t regret it!"

"A charming older, and slightly funky (in a good way) house off a dirt road in the country. We loved it! So quiet and peaceful. A short drive into the cute town of San Saba. Would definitely stay again, if I'm in the area. The host was very accomodating."

"Absolutely loved! Perfect get away for your family huge acres fenced in, dogs are aloud. My favorite part was the girl on the porch. The kids loved roasting marsh-mellows and just enjoying the good out doors with out any wifi in site. Highly recommend!! Billy the kids grave is 20 mins away in Hamilton, TX! We will be back especially at open raffle season , book for stay while your in town hunting! "

"There was someone in our room when we got there. Since there isn't a manager on site, it took awhile to get ahold of the owners to get another room. They did put us in the larger room at no extra cost, though, so that was nice. "

"This is the room I reserved but they double booked it and I was given a different room and was told by text at 9am the next day, day of travel. I was told a would be refunded the difference but that hasn’t happened. I was told by text again that I would receive a call but never did. I was given a different room which was ok. The 2nd night the room would not unlock. Calls and texts went unanswered. Housekeeping came after I got hold of them after over an hour of sitting outside from 9pm till after 10. They let us in with their code. The host Sherri didn’t text back until 6 am the next morning just saying “lift up”. The next night at 9pm housekeeping was there and ended up letting me in again. This is a problem that needs addressed as it has been a problem in other reviews for the room I was given not this room I paid for. The lack of communication with the host is terrible. All I received were texts and a text 9 hours after being locked out is unacceptable. We will not be back nor recommend this place. We are moving to the area and needed a place to stay while we work on our new property. This was very stressful and I do know how to open a door. The lock needs replaced. "
