Poor Service from Hotel Personnel

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Pros: The room was nice and big. It was a neat old building too.
Cons: It smells like an old building in the lobby... like my grandma's house. The hospitality was abysmal. Worst check-in experience I've ever had.
Location: Marquette isn't far and neither is downtown. But the neighborhood is a little sketch so I don't recommend walking.
When I arrived, I arrive around midnight. 2 late flights and a destroyed suitcase cased me to be later than I had wished. I hoped for good hospitality. But I pulled up to the front and there was no vallet present. I got out of the car and walked inside and found an employee who told me that I could park in the parking lot directly behind the building for free. I went and parked. When I went to the front desk with all my stuff, the person at the front desk informed me that there was no free parking, and the lot behind the building was 45 minute parking only and that I would be towed. Great. I figured I'd check into my room first. I drug my stuff up to my room and opened the door to find that the room was occupied and there were people in the bed. I exited quickly and went back to the desk. The lady working started getting me another set of cards made up. I went out to move my car to the garage. After all of this I received no apology. Not even an "I'm sorry about that." And this was supposed to be an expedia VIP hotel, but I didn't receive any perk of any kind. This was a terrible experience. The room was very nice and clean. The location was average.

Terrible hotel....definitely not a 4.3 star hotel!

Posted Aug 15, 2016
Pros: Check in was easy. Thats it.
Cons: Staff attitude and helpfulness, cleanliness, smell of the hotel
Location: had to drive a few miles in order to get to things nearby. not a great location at all
The hotel smelled awful like a musty/mildew old building not only in the lobby but also in our room. There was a bug on the bed when we walked into the room. The sheets did not fit the bed so housekeeping had to come up to put new sheets on and the duvet was pretty gross and put on completely wrong. At checkout in the morning, no one was around at the front desk. We waited about 5 minutes at the desk before a girl walked through who worked at the cafe. She was kind enough to hunt down a staff member from the break room. That staff member was rude and had a very negative attitude while checking us out. The neighborhood also seemed quite sketchy. We would not have gone out around the hotel after dark for sure. Overall, it was a pretty gross room and just a terrible experience for us. Definitely not the 4.3 star hotel we paid for and thought we were going to enjoy.

Pullout couch had used linens on it

Posted Aug 11, 2016
Beautiful old hotel but missed the mark for us. We chose this hotel for its age and character. It had both of those but the upkeep fell short. Arrived late in the evening and ready for our daughter to jump into bed. The pullout couch had the previous guest's USED bed linens still on it. GROSS. Also, there is a light switch that shuts off the lighting in the room so the phone charger didn't work, phone died, no alarm and had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night in pitch black. Would've been nice if they had given us a heads up on that one.

Great staff

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Our stay was awsome. Its an old hotel in a not great part of town. However the staff was amazing. The girl who checked us in and got us going was the most upbeat, energetic, and fun hotel staffer ive ever encountered at a front desk. The staff makes this hotel a fun and friendly place to stay.

Brewer's Game

Posted Aug 5, 2016
Pros: This hotel has kept many of it's original 1929 features.
We really enjoyed our stay at Ambassador Hotel. We went to Milwaukee to go see a Brewer's game. The hotel offered a free shuttle to and from the game. Because of the free shuttle, we went to both the evening game and the afternoon game the next day. The shuttle came and picked us up early for the afternoon game since we couldn't stay for the entire game. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Descent hotel.

Descent hotel but not in a nice neighborhood. The hotel is very old and does not look like a 4 start hotel.

Our hotel was built in 1928. We underwent a multi million dollar renovation and have restored much of the original Art Deco architecture and fixtures. What could we improve to earn a four star rating? We sincerely wish to learn from your feedback.

Located near Marquette University

Posted Aug 3, 2016
Pros: Close to campus, comfortable, enjoyed the late bar hours so we can socialize with friends
Cons: Double check the linen and do not recommend the Princess Nail Salon for it is a very unclean place.
Location: Campus tours and events, casino, day spas, restaurants, lake, Gesu mass
The air conditioning had a few challenges; yet, after playing around with it for quite some time it kicked in. Conveniently located near campus and the bar area was great for late night socializing. Bartender had a great personality and made excellent drinks. Unfortunately, the bed linen was sour as if it remained in the dryer without drying - easy fix to have changed.

Thank you sincerely for the detailed feedback. We value your observations and appreciate your compliments. Please know that we are not affiliated with the nail salon located down the street. Did one of our team members recommend it? We wish to ensure that our team members are giving our guests recommendations for businesses that have been vetted and are highly rated among guests. We will pass your comments in regards to the linen to our housekeeping manager. We take great care to ensure that laundry is dried immediately. Your feedback allows us to remind the department how crucial it is to follow the linen policies we have in place. We hope that you will visit us again in the future.
