Welcoming and Comfortable

Posted Aug 16, 2015
I really loved this hotel. It is clean, nicely designed, with comfy beds and the most welcoming staff I have ever met. When I arrived the young man (student at the University) greeted me with a big smile and after checking me in, asked if I would like to know anything about the area and the city. He spent considerable time with me recommending restaurants and museums and informed me that the hotel have a shuttle service that would take me for free (of course I left a tip each time) to anyplace within a 5 mile radius! They drove me to my friends home and would have picked me up too had I needed that done. The concierge (sorry I did not find out his name) welcomed me each time I came into the hotel and remembered where I had gone that day so he could ask specific questions. I also ate a few times at their restaurant, which was excellent both in food and service. The hotel is located right on campus and near several good places to eat and to make it even more convenient, the light rail is right in the middle of the street in front of the hotel. Thanks for making this such a comfortable stay!

Nice hotel, good location.

Posted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: It was clean, stylish, and had a good location.
Cons: Although we were able to park in the ramp next door, there is limited parking in the hotel's lot. This really was not an inconvenience to us however.
Location: Some bars and eating establishments are nearby. The light rail will take you downtown.
We recently stayed at the Common's Hotel for an overnight date night. We enjoyed the stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was good, however a little pricey for what we got. We really liked being close to the light rail station, so we were able to venture downtown and went to the Kenny Chesney concert last minute. I would overall recommend this hotel.

Beautiful, well located hotel, BUT....

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: Beautiful, great location, comfortable accommodations
Cons: honesty of the cleaning staff. If you tell a customer that you will call them back, do it!
Location: We walked everywhere, the location was perfect, on the edge of campus. The light rail was in front of the hotel if the weather hadn't been perfect!
I booked this hotel for my daughter and myself, for two nights to visit the university. The hotel is beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. However, I left my new kindle on the night stand when we checked out. I called the hotel the morning after we arrived home when I realized it wasn't in any of our bags. I spoke with someone at the front desk, she put me through to a lost and found dept. I left a message for the lost and found person and never heard from them. A few days later I called again and spoke with the manager on duty, very personable, he took my information and promised he'd look into it and call me. He has not and it has been two weeks since our stay. How can I recommend this hotel to anyone?

Hotel was beautiful and had a lot of interesting charachter (loved the decor). Close to the rail for transportation to Target Field and will have great access to the new stadium. I was most pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay here again

Great Hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: We like the friendliness of the staff and how beautiful the hotel is.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The location was great so I didn't have to drive in Minneapolis. We came up for the concert that was located 3 or 4 blocks away.
I took my daughter to the concert One Direction last Sunday and the hotel location, staff and service was great.

Beautiful hotel right along the train route.

Posted Jul 28, 2015
We needed to wait over an hour before our room was ready for us (check in at 3:00 but couldn't get in until after 4:00) because even though we were told it was clean, no one had been able to inspect it yet. Hotel is on the U of M campus so plenty of restaurants around. We stayed at the hotel while attending a concert at Target Field . . . very easy commute. Would definitely stay here again, but would plan an activity from check-in until room is available. Hotel staff does call once room is ready.

Extremely loud music all night. Be warned.

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: Cleanliness.
Cons: Room size. Pillows. No loud music after 10 would be great even if there is an event or wedding.
Location: The only thing close is University of Minnesota.
Extremely loud music with lots of bass playing most of the night. I could not sleep with this music. Room was small. Beds not comfortable. All pillows flat and squished down to nothing when you put your head on it. Front desk did not even ask how our night was.
