Clean and friendly, just very out datedPosted Oct 6, 2015
This hotel was in the perfect location for the event that we were at. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. The hotel itself was outdated and could use a facelift. Also the Internet reception was very spotty and we rarely were able to connect to the Internet. The front desk staff tried to work on that, but there was really only 1.5 days of our four-day stay that we are able to get on the Internet. the pool and jacuzzi was really nice.

rude desk clerkPosted Sep 23, 2015
Cons: maintenance could make things work
Location: don't know
the desk clerk was very rude, refusing to see if a room was available two hours before check in time, letting us sit in front of her in a small lobby for two hours and then going off duty without telling the other clerk we were waiting.

A bit pricey for the experience.Posted Sep 14, 2015
Pros: The shuttle to and from the Xcel Energy Center is great!
Cons: The smells were terrible! The room smelled like "salami" and the hallway had an intense sweet smell, that was clearly masking a very unpleasant odor.
Location: The hotel is easily accessed from the highway, and minutes from downtown St. Paul. The Xcel Energy Center was approx. 2-5 minutes away, by shuttle.
I stayed for leisure travel, to attend a concert at the Xcel Energy Center. I've stayed here for concerts in the past as well, as their free shuttle to and from the venue is very convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly, as they have been for past visits. There were a few disappointing aspects of this particular stay though. Our room smelled terrible. We all agreed that there was a vey strong odor of "salami". It became slightly uncomfortable as the smell did not go away. The hallway on the third floor, where we stayed, also had a very strong odor as well. It smelled of vanilla or maple, mixed with a very unpleasant smell that was clearly trying to be masked. All of these intense smells were quite bothersome to all of us in our room. For a very stinky, two star hotel, the amount we paid for one night, seemed quite pricey. Unfortunately, this was not the most pleasant stay that I've had here.

Close to downtownPosted Sep 11, 2015
Pros: Amenities and a bar/lounge. Location and shuttle.
Location: Tons of things nearby. All St. Paul downtown places and whatever the shuttle will take you to.
We were looking for a place to stay near the state fair with a shuttle back and forth at a reasonable rate. This was it. GPS brought us right to it, we got to check in at noon and take the shuttle to the fair. Super deal and what we wanted! Room was super. Overlooking the Capitol building. Very cool. Spacious with a king bed and pull out couch. Would stay again for any events in St. Paul!

Very good customer service from all the staff, room was clean and comfortable. We were done to go to the state fair, the shuttle to the fair made for less stressful visit.

St Paul and easy accessPosted Sep 4, 2015
Decent location in St Paul near Capitol and right off 94. Easy access to U of Minn and downtown Minneapolis. Room was standard two Q beds and small table with two chairs. Nothing special.

InsecurePosted Sep 2, 2015
Cons: security and staff performance
At 11:15 pm two individuals entered my families room with a key card. When I approached the front desk the staff shrugged it off as no big deal and offered no excuse or apology. Not impressed!

This hotel was better than we expected for this price range. The room was huge with a leather sofa. It also had a fridge. It was quiet. The bed was comfortable. I would lOve to stay here again

Would never stay againPosted Aug 24, 2015
It was s muggy in our room that our floor was sticky and moist. The bedding felt damp due to the moisture. Our Colling unit in our room wouldn't work. Tried several times to get at least the fan to work but no suck luck. I'm so glad we were only there for 1 night and only slept.
