Well appointed hotel in advantaged location

Posted Jan 14, 2017
Pros: Large and very well appointed rooms. Not overly busy. Not loud in the middle of the night.
Cons: I'd examine the marketing strategy between the hotel and Fire (the restaurant accessible through the Radisson lobby).
Location: Convention Center, Orchestra Hall, Target Center, Target Field.
The Radisson Blu in downtown Minneapolis is in the heart of the business district. All of the banks, accountants, law firms and their supporting contractors are within a four or five block walk. That walk is entirely within reach through the (heated) skyway system so, even when it's -8 degrees outside (as it was yesterday morning), one needn't venture out. On the other hand, when it's warmer outside, the hotel is within walking distance of the Mississippi River and its riverfront park. The workout room is more than adequate and I never found it to be too busy during my stay. My only concern is the marketing synergy with the in-house, street level restaurant there by the name of "Fire." For example, energy bars and apples are in the lobby for consumption, but only UNTIL Fire opens at 6 am. I understand why that's the case, but if Fire is unable to succeed unless the hotel guests are deprived of an energy bar, it speaks loudly to a marketing effort in tension, if not conflict, with the better interests of the hotel's patrons.

Hotel was nice but had some dated elements such as worn carpeting in room, etc.

Downtown Hotel

Posted Jan 9, 2017
Very nice hotel located downtown Minneapolis. Parking can be a little rough in the lot down below it but otherwise everything else was great! Can get to anywhere you may need to go to by foot which is nice as well. Wouldn't recommend ordering food from hotel as it's VERY pricy! All in all great stay

Thank you for taking the time to provide this positive review. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the hotel. I regret that you had issues with the parking ramp. Unfortunately, the ramp is public and not owned or operated by the hotel. I am sorry to hear that you found the restaurant prices to be high. Our goal is to provide a fine dining experience with Minnesota-inspired dishes. I hope we have the opportunity to serve you again soon!

Easy to find and park despite being downtown, friendly and helpful staff. Only wish it had a hot tub...

Didnt like it

Posted Jan 1, 2017
Poor lighting in room. No window to outside world. It was a building within a building.... which was made worse by the dim and poor lighting. The horrible design or lack of a shower door caused water to spill onto the bathroom floor. We had to use the towels to soak up the water everytime someone showered. The bed was uncomfortable and hard. The people in the next room were yelling and partying until 3 am. Our requests to mgmt regarding the noise were useless.

Dear Mark, Thank you for providing honest feedback. I am sorry to hear that your stay was less than satisfactory. Half of our rooms face the street, while the other half face the internal atrium. Every guest has a different preference. Upon your next stay, please inform our front desk staff that you prefer a street-facing room and we will do our best to accommodate your request. I apologize for the issue with your shower door. This is highly unusual and I will have our maintenance team investigate the problem so this does not happen again. I regret that the beds were too hard for your liking. Your comfort is of utmost importance to us, so we do offer mattress pillow toppers upon request. I am disappointed to hear that our staff did not respond promptly to your noise complaint. We have a two-strike rule for guests violating our disturbance policy, and it is our responsibility to enforce that rule. I will review our process with our team and use your comments to improve our operation. Thank you again for your feedback. Honest reviewers, such as yourself, help us pinpoint areas where we can improve. I hope you will give Radisson Blu another chance to exceed your expectations the next time you are traveling in the area.

Nice Hotel

Posted Dec 27, 2016
Cons: hard bed and soft pillows
Location: Really good location. We were able to walk rather than Uber.
Good service, central location to a lot of restaurants, clean and modern room. Elevators took forever, bed was a bit hard and pillows a bit too soft.

Shame about the restaurant

Posted Dec 26, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: New restaurant and new chef and/or kitchen hand who was on the pans!
Location: Decent location
Probably the worst food that I've experienced in the US and that's saying something. Definitely the worst Bone Marrow dish that I have had anywhere in the world. Whoever concocted this dish should be put down ... absolutely inedible, while being the only item of interest on the menu. As I was leaving @ 6am I had no choice but to order breakfast which came as one big blob of tasteless cheese!
