Great place to stay

Great location and friendly hosts. I changed the room requirements at the 11th hour and Jordan handled the change with no fuss.

The hotel was appealing but we on two occasions said there would be four of us and that the sofa bed would be made. When we returned around 11 p.m. expecting to go to sleep, we found ourselves trying repeatedly to make contact with management to supply linens. That took about an hour and we had an early flight.

We appreciate you letting us know when your reservation changed from 3 to 4 people, and sincerely apologize for our mistake in not having the sofa bed ready for you and that we were not able to immediately respond to you at 11 pm that evening. Please accept our deepest apologies for the error, because of this we did not charge you for the 4th person in the room.

Great old frat house

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Old fraternity house moved across the river. On the river. Well maintained, friendly helpful manager and wonderful breakfast. Not a cookie-cutter place, but wonderfully unique, comfortable and fun.

Thank you for the kind words - the fraternity brothers still come and have a reunion every year as well! It is a lot of fun to hear their old stories and memories!

A great property and I always enjoy my stay. However, there is a great increase in train traffic at night and light sleepers may have troubles.

Thank you for the review - yes the trains are a part of Missoula that are hard to get away from, anywhere that is near downtown is going to hear the train noise. As a local it is something you get used to, and it can be fun to imagine a time before highways, when the trains and train stations were the bustling epicenter of Missoula! We now enjoy old rail trails that connect throughout town to shopping, dining and parks.

I'm am very sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. We rarely have problems with noise, but it sounds like there was an issue. I would suggest for any other guest to please call or text me (I live on site) so that I can ask the offending party to quite down and respect our other guest.

Won't ever stay there again.

The welcome wasn't very friendly and that just sort of set the tone for the stay. The room smelled of corn tortillas the entire time, was right next to the kitchen and the breakfast area (think smells of food 24/7 and clanging of dishes/chatter of other guests), and had minimal amenities. The breakfast the next morning, the one that other reviewers had raved about, was seriously subpar, including the coffee. It was a place to sleep. That's it.

I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Room #3 is our least expensive room, and priced accordingly for it's location in the house, near the kitchen. Most guest are able to turn the fan on and create a little white noise if they feel there is to much commotion outside their room. I personally welcome 90% of our guest, so I am very sorry that I was not friendly to you, this is unacceptable. I do not recall any specific interaction that was unfriendly, but possibly you caught me on an off day or in a bad moment, it happens to the best of us and for that I am very sorry. As you can read from the other reviews, your experience was unique and not typical for our guest. I would note that we have 7 rooms total (so we are not a "busy" hotel), and the house is pretty quite for the most part, so to say there is 24/7 smell of food, clanging of dishes, clatter and other guest would be inaccurate. To be truthful, we cook about 2 hours a day and in total the Kitchen is used 3 or 4 hours a day, during normal business hours. I think it's obvious this guest did not have a good experience so everything was wrong for them, but if you read our other reviews you will find that this is an outlier. Lastly I would say I and our staff drink our coffee every morning and not only do we all find it good, but so do many of our guest. If coffee is not your thing, we also have a large selection of locally made teas available, an amenity you will not find at any hotel.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Parking is limited.
Location: Hiking, biking, tubing, shopping...actress river from UM.
If you can book space here, do it. Great views. Wonderful staff and comfortable bed. Delicious breakfasts, too.
