Charming

Posted Jul 16, 2017
Pros: Uniqueness
Cons: Several lamps didn't work in our room. We were on the first floor and there was quite a bit of foot traffic past our door.
Lovely hotel with plenty of character. Easy access to Dauphin Street area as well as to roads out of Mobile. Lovely staff at the front desk who had a wealth of information about the area. Loved them.

Downtown

The Malaga is an historic building in the old town part of Mobile. It is close, within walking distance, to parks, stores and restaurants. The courtyard is beautiful and similar to what is found in New Orleans. Breakfast was good, with both hot and cold selections.

A step back in time.

This was a very nice old style building with a terrific courtyard. The furnishings were of the antique nature, but it was done nicely. The hotel is near downtown with easy access to the freeway.

Nice hotel and close to downtown.

Pros: I would've loved to have stayed here in its "hey day!" If you like historic and quaint... this is the place for you!
Cons: Maintenance details...wrought iron balcony could use some love. Carriage house spiffed up a bit.Sorry to see the pool had been filled in!
Location: We had an event at the Saenger Theater and it was an easy walk and plenty of choices for food and shopping.
We had a great experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was an easy walk to Saenger Theater and restaurants. We stayed in one of the historic rooms and loved the floors, tall ceilings, and beautiful old windows, and the courtyard. The record player and albums in the lobby was a nice touch! Simon and Garfunkel! Good Stuff! Breakfast was hearty! Eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, muffins, cereals, fruit, yogurt and more.... impressive!

Quiet, relaxing stay in the heart of Mobile

This is a very quiet, locally owned hotel right near everything in Mobile. The room was comfortable and the courtyard was so relaxing.

On the road to Dallas

Pros: Inner Court yard was nice full of history
Cons: Update the room to reflect modern day Amanaties
Location: Dolphins street is full of F&B to choose from
Well, the hotel is not really well kept, yes it's in the historic area of mobile, and have the overall history look, but one would expect the room to be up to date, smell fresh, AC to be quite, bed not squeaky. The day time attendant ( Jordan) was wonderful, and helpful, however the night desk manager wasn't to be found at 6 am for check out, at 6.50 the breakfast manager helped in receiving the keys and on our way we went. Photos on web site don't reflect the reality!

Pros: everything
Cons: nit - extra trash can in bathroom, glass table protector under coffee maker.
Location: There is so much to see in walking distance; museums, historic homes, convention center and parks. Great dining is also within walking distance.
Fantastic staff, gorgeous building and perfect location!
