Worst Stay Ever during Mardi GrasPosted Feb 15, 2015 on Hotels
This was during Mardi Gras. It was The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First of all, Hotel.com overbooked rooms, as well as only booked our stay for one night, when we requested two nights. It took three hours to get that straightened out. Secondly, the phone did not work in our room, and the refrigerator did not cool well. Thirdly, our friend who booked the other room did not have a remote to the TV, and never did receive one. After spending the next day at Mardi Gras we returned to our rooms to find that neither had been cleaned. We went to the front desk and their excuse was that two employees did not show up for work that day. They promised to have it cleaned the next day. I told them I was checking out the next day and just asked for clean towels and cups. They did not have any wash cloths clean at that time. Nothing had been repaired in our room either. The employees had their children at the job with them because they did not have a baby sitter. The desk clerk that checked me out said she had two daughters who worked for her and they didn't have anyone to watch the kids because they were all pulling double shifts. I think I should have been given a huge discount for having to take care of everything myself. I missed Friday night Mardi Gras parade because of the three hours I spent with Hotels.com and the Red Roof Inn trying to get my room. I would never stay here again.

just horriblePosted Feb 13, 2015
my first room was so dirty and stinky, I immediately requested room change. The second room didn't smell as bad as first but it was very stinky regardless. I left everything at my car because the smell was so terrible I didn't want my things to expose to it. It was so bad that I didn't even change to pajamas, and I walked to toilet in my shoes and tried not to touch anything. This is very unsafe place to stay, with some broken glass right on the parking lot although when I asked the hotel staff about how secure the place is, they told me it's very secure because the police come every hour to patrol.

Hotel room was a little rough. There was no smoke alarm but the bracket to hold one was still on the wall, the toilet wasn't level, AC unit was rusted out, no shampoo or kleenex in the room. On the positive side the bed was comfortable and in general the hotel was quiet. Close to a Wal-Mart, Cracker Barrel, multiple fast food places and the Interstate. Didn't hear a lot of noise from the I-65 despite being so close although did hear some police sirens the first night. Angela at the front desk was extremely helpful after there was an issue with my online reservation.

At least it's a roof over your head.Posted Nov 20, 2014
I travel a lot and don't have a lot of expectations when I get a hotel. Generally these complaints are first world issues and here mine. The towel rack was ripped off the wall, so towels were stored on the safe. The tub and the sink both had draining issues. The mirror and faucet had a gross, hazy residue left behind from the cleaning chemicals. The wifi didn't work at all. The drink machine in the second building ate my money but the front desk reimbursed me. I stayed for two nights which I survived. But the issues that were wrong with the room are easily preventable with regular maintenance and communication. Obviously the cleaning ladies don't care about the quality of work they do. And the managers don't inspect the rooms. I'm sure there are nicer rooms in that hotel, I have found when you book through expedia, the hotel will put you in their worst room. It's because you're not doing direct business with them and they lose a portion of the sale.
