"Riva’s Hotel was overall a very pleasant experience. Staff was helpful and friendly and the location was close to the waterfront. The rooftop restaurant had a beautiful view and good food. Loved walking everywhere within 15-20 minutes to shop, eat and sightseeing. Our room was comfortable and nice, although there were items that needed repair and maintenance. Overall, I recommend this boutique hotel."

"Check in was a bit challenging as they weren't responding to messages so we waited outside in the heat until another guest let us in. Reception & breakfast is on the 3rd floor (no elevator). We booked a room titled "City View" but it was a view of a laneway & an old run down building. Room was very small. We had no hot water for the first night and also the next morning (showering was unpleasant, freezing cold). The air conditioner was so loud it was hard to sleep & it stopped working on the...

"We booked the room on the top floor with a large balcony. It had no view but it was lovely to sit outside. The building from the outside is attractive. The room could do with some maintenance but it was functional. The room was cleaned every day if you needed and the lady was always helpful and kind. I would recommend this hotel since it is located in a very busy area with lots of restaurants and shops and close to the ferry."

"I had booked a deluxe triple room I found it quite small. I would put it as slightly smaller than a standard premier Inn or travel lodge double in the UK. The room was clean though somewhat in need of refurbishment, The fridge was barely cool as was the air conditioning. A city view is maybe an exaggeration as my view was of the office block 5m across the side street from my room. Overall however I was ok with what I received for the price I paid. The manager was very keen on up selling the food...

"Clean, great view, helpful friendly staff. Only two things came up: 1- no sheet provided. Blanket was a bit rough and would have preferred a sheet on the bed. There was a base / fitted sheet but no cover sheet. 2- Air conditioner turned off a couple of times, but we got it resolved. All is well."
