Small room and outdated facilities

Posted Aug 31, 2016
Bathrooms are extremely outdated and require significant maintenance, our shower was leaking with mold, wifi didn't work in the room, room is very small. Not worth it

good base in Beausoleil

Posted Jul 19, 2016
Pros: clean spacious bathroom 15min walk (down hill) to monte carlo
Cons: staff friendliness update the showers update the roof terrace improve offerings at breakfast
Location: 15min walk to heart of monte carlo 5min to station and bus stop opposite a sports stadium and church supermarket 2 min away car parking meters
We used Hotel Forum as a base for our trip to explore Monte Carlo, Monaco, as it is so close The hotel was a good basic B&B, staff could be friendlier, breakfast very basic but sufficient No safe in your room, very basic offering in the room fridges so I would use the local Carrefour to grab any drinks/snacks you need in room Has a lovely little terrace yet they make very little out of it, some old loungers and a garden furniture - not the most appealing, it seems a huge waste

outdated but good breakfast

Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: breakfast
Cons: decor
The hotel is 3 blocks from the train station, BUT Monaco is a city built in a mountain, so you will either be going up or down all the times, through public escalators, stairs, elevators, and very narrow sidewalks. Poor signage so very easy to get lost. The hotel is okay. Breakfast was very good and fresh, lots of variety. Room is clean but outdated. The hotel is "walking" (be ready for climbing) distance from the casino and the bay, which are the 2 relevant points in Monaco, besides the old town. We spent 4 days and we did not enjoy the city, honestly. We were there in April so weather was nice, but the city was preparing for a the annual Grand Prix and all you see is: construction guys, chicken wire fence in every block, and metal barriers. To cross the streets, you must find a way to go through the chicken wire fences built in the streets. There is no people at night walking the streets, and you won't find streets with restaurants (you will find a few restaurants randomly placed through out the city). If you decide to go to Monaco, go for a day, visit the Old Town and the Casino and run! Not worth your time.

Perfect location but tedious walk up the hill...

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: The location was great (apart from the steep walk up the hill from the train station) and the views from the terrace were stunning.
Cons: The internet was terrible. It was a complicated process logging in, slow and it worked on only 2 of our 5 devices.
Location: Once you get to the bottom of the hill, there's the train station and a major bus stop that will take you anywhere.
Wouldn't stay there again due to the bad wifi. Bed was too firm, decor too outdated but the view on top of the terrace was fantastic!

When service counts

Posted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Personal attention and genuine service
Cons: Not a fair question...it is what it is and for the price and position I could not expect any more
Location: Location is a very steep 300 meters from the Harbour with some local shopping but not much more. This is a place to eat/sleep, action down the hill.
Whilst not down on the same street level as some more expensive hotels the Forum is close to the train and not too difficult a walk to the heart of this great place. Had the feel of a more "locals" hotel and not so tourist oriented which we liked. The wonderful lady in the dining room did not speak much English but looked after us like family and saved our lives by personally driving us and our luggage to the train station when the cab did not show up. Loved the place and very reasonably priced in a comfortable room.
