Nice quiet accommodations , friendly staff, great natural surroundings.

My husband and I booked last minute for a holiday weekend in Steamboat Springs. I was excited to see how affordable The Fold was compared to other similar hotels in the area. But, that is what they advertise, affordability. The rooms were recently renovated and come with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. The soap dispensers in the shower were empty, there was no hand soap in the bathroom. There were no extra bath towels, just 2. The ceiling fan in the bedroom would randomly turn on/off in the middle of the night walking us up several times. Everything seemed minimal. The grounds were dirty with dog poop all over the grass. They advertise a dog friendly environment, but there were not bag stations. It was okay. Would we stay here again? Maybe....just because it is affordable, doesn't mean it has to feel unkept and lacking in comfort.

When we saw the photos of this property, we felt like it was going to be a little hidden gem. It looked updated and cozy. When we actually checked in, we were disappointed. For the sake of character limit I’ll list off our pros & cons: Pro: -pretty location close to Hwy but far enough off that you don’t hear the noise. Cons: -confusing to find unit, signs directing would be helpful. -from parking you walk across a large deck meant as a common space. Large trash can was out and heaped with trash; stayed there our entire stay. Lots of miscellaneous house keeping items also left on deck. -room felt fairly low quality & not well done. You can tell that everything was remodeled DIY, not by a professional. Which is fine, but there were things like the carpet pulling up around the perimeter bc baseboards weren’t completed. The kitchen was laid out so that the full size trash can was right next to the head if bed. -headboard was loose and smacked against the wall every time you moved. -jacuzzi tub was cracked & looked old & worn in a way that makes you unsure how clean it actually is. Neither of us would use it. -water took an extraordinarily long time to get hot. We were disappointed enough in the room that we chose to go somewhere else for our 2nd night. I texted the # given per checkout instructions & never got any reply. We never saw any manager or staff while there. We booked this room bc of great reviews so I wanted to offer my honest experience.

The property at Breckinridge was conveniently located, well maintained and professionally staffed.

I thought it was perfect for what I needed it for. Choose by everything I wanted to explorer. Places are walking distance. The room was clean and the staff was nice and helpful for the questions I had.
