Helpful manager, walking distance to center of town. Nice to see a smaller Italian town.

Beautiful property helps escape city's clamorPosted Sep 3, 2016
Lovely hotel; very comfortable; peaceful surroundings just outside the city's perimeter. Incredibly friendly and helpful property manager/caretaker, Giuliano. He made our stay a truly memorable experience. Le Serre is extraordinarily good value.

Lovely hotel in uninspiring townPosted Sep 19, 2015
Pros: Clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff, breakfast included and served in the room.
Location: We found the town of Moncalieri pretty uninspiring, but were only staying for one night so it wasn't a problem.
We stayed for one night at Le Serre on our way from Liguria to Lake Como. The hotel itself is brilliant - lovely (very clean) rooms, friendly and helpful staff and breakfast served in your room. For one night as a stop off, this was a great choice. It is in pleasant private grounds and has a swimming pool. Moncalieri itself was quite uninspiring. The hotel owner was very helpful with restaurant recommendations, but there was not much within walking distance. The town is quite quiet and residential. If you wish to explore Turin itself, this hotel is within striking distance (1/2 hour drive or so), but staying within the city would be much easier. I would recommend this hotel for one or two nights, but had we been staying for longer I would have found the location disappointing.
