Nice and comfortable

Pros: Clean, the bed was super comfortable.
Cons: The staff could be more sociable, and the continental breakfast was nothing to write home about.
Location: Location served our purpose very well.
I will say this is my second stay at the Red Roof Inn, I enjoy the stay the first time. Its clean and comfortable. Its close to Chicago, yet far enough away from the rat race. There are a few things I would improve upon. First the staff is polite, however they do not go out of their way to be sociable. A good morning is always nice to hear from the staff. Second we stayed two nights and both nights had to deal with the tv in the next room being too loud. and another room had foul language coming from it, I am thinking the walls are not well insulated. Other than that, I would definitely suggest staying there.

Hotel needs updating. Room was dingy and did not appear clean. Sink is located outside of a bathroom within the actual room. This room is simple at best. Unless I was desperate I would not stay at this hotel again. Front desk staff was pleasant.

Check Your room before you go to bed

Cons: Things at the hotel need to be fixed immediately and not put off, the hotel maids need to notify management / ownership when they see problems
Location: There are alot of restaurants , gas stations, and easy access to the hwy , also when we stayed the county fair was going on
The carpeting in our had a 27" burn stain right in the middle of the room almost looks like a exorcist ritual, the bathroom sink had candle wax all over in a 18" diameter scattered , the pull out couch next to the bed was stained with who knows what all over the front and side, my wife and kids refused to stay there , so I put them in a hotel down the street, and I stayed until the morning , I woke up in the morning and went to get my drinks from the refrigerator and I stepped in a huge puddle of water, I saw the maid in the hall and showed her and she said she forgot to plug in the refrigerator after thawing it out from the night before and she apologized ,I woke up went downstairs and I notified the staff the next morning at the front desk and all he could say is that "he is sorry" ,I usually dont even do reviews but this was pathetic!

Just know that we have planned renovation this fall and that includes new furniture, hardwood floor, new paint, 40" TV and more amenites in the room. I promise that this hotel will be lot better than it was before since new management trying thier best to improve it everyway possible. It was a regular no frills hotel. The only bad part was that the fire alarm went off at five a.m. and we had to go outside and wait for the all clear from the fire department.

Good. Don't like how you get in from the main road. Almost got hit twice by big trucks

Pros: The staff was kind.
Location: There are few motel choices in the area, and little to do.
We found the room, especially the toilet area, to be a bit scummy, the toilet not clean. The staff seemed to care, but I would not go back.
