Located about a 5-10 minute walk from the train station it was an amazing hotel. The room we were allocated was in an outer building which was easy to access. The room was spotlessly clean, very spacious with all amenities. The hotel must have had a refurb as you could still smell the new carpets and fresh paint work. The bath was very stylish with everything you could need. If I were visiting Tirano again I would stay here again." Ever. But our stay at Ostello del Castello in Tirano was so fantastic that a positive review was necessary. The owner, Andrea, ensured our stay was perfect. His family property is a seven centuries old modern renovation. Our room was clean, comfortable and secure. Breakfast was delicious: meat and cheese plates, pasties, yogurt, granola, breads, fruits, coffees and juices. The location is an 8 minute walk from the train station. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. This location is perfect as a home base: within an hour you could be at Lake Como or multiple ski areas. You can ride the UNESCO listed Bernina Express to Switzerland right in Tirano. I can't say enough good things about Andrea and Ostello del Castello. Stay here. You won't be disappointed!" They really tried to help out with everything. We're also very pleased with the room and the bed. Comfortable and nice standard, even though the TV was the smallest monitor I've ever seen. We weren't there to watch TV anyway, so we didn't care. Last plus is the breakfast. Normally continental breakfasts can be sugar and coffee only. But they had a small, but great selection of cheese, ham, bacon, scrambled eggs and bread.
