Had so much fun!

This was such an incredible experience. The staff was so unbelievably nice and accommodating. The area itself is beautiful. Perfect place for spring break!!

Great resort

Pros: The food was great, both the buffet and the nicer restaurants. We ate at the Italian restaurant and the Japanese. And, the staff was wonderful.
Cons: The place could use a facelift. It's starting to show some age. And the beach needs to have a bathroom and bar closer.
Location: We stayed at the resort, which had plenty to do.
We liked this resort. This was our third trip to Jamaica, third resort. This was the biggest resort we stayed at. It was huge! Almost too big for me. But we liked the opportunities it provided. We really had a great time.

Luxurious yet affordable

The Grand Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay exceeded our expectations. I have been to many all inclusive resorts, and the hotel grounds at Grand Bahia were by far the nicest. The pool was huge! Plenty of space to relax and enjoy without being bombarded by all of the guests. We were able to find chairs everyday on the beach and by the pool without a struggle. Unheard of! The beach was beautiful boasting soft, white sand. The food was awesome.. which also can not be said of many all inclusive resorts. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I can go on and on, the take away point is, if you are looking for a luxurious yet affordable resort to stay at, Grand Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay is definitely your choice! They will not disappoint. I can now check Jamaica and Mexico from my list of the brand.. can't wait to visit them all!

Exceeded our expectations

Great hotel for a great price!

I came here recently with my best friend for spring break and I was pleasantly surprised. I read multiple reviews about the hotel before we went and I was a little skeptical. After 5 days, I would 100% go back here. Every single staff member was so friendly, the hotel was beautiful and the food was more than decent. I have stayed at 4 other resorts in Jamaica and this one is in my top favorites

Large property with great amenities

Washroom wasn't cleaned at all, there was urine from the last guests on the toilet. Sheets were also dirty upon arrival. I called an asked for laundry to be picked up. They said they were on their way to get it. They didn't pick it up until the next day and I recieved it back 2 days later which defeated the purpose of me doing it anyway. Other than that, food and pool were great and wait staff was amazing.

Nice location but beware of the staff

The hotel itself is very appealing..pool area and beach area was one of the nicest ever.. food was average at best, buffett had plenty of choices but food was very bland and tasteless, even the speciality restaurant the portions were the size of a snail.. never had any ice for your drinks and the mini bar in your room ,LOL.. a mini fridge which doesn't work with 2 beers and a soda.. thats enough of the good parts.. we were stolen from in our room.. the hotel has key cards which shows every entry into our room and there was a total of 5 different employees that had entered our room during our stay.. during the week someone searched my wifes purse and stole her diamond ring she had hidden in it.. you are saying don't they have safes?? yes for $50 a week plus another $50 cash deposit so we passed on it thinking we didn't need it, WRONG.. The hotel staff and security called police which made a report out but we could not be allowed to review for some reason..we spent a a total of a day and a half trying to get some answers or at least be compensated for a wasted day filing reports and going to police station but their policy is let your insurance company worry about it.. was given nothing in return but smirks and phony grins and fake apologies, so NO i would not recommend this place to anyone, in fact i would stay out of Jamacia entirely and find an island with more sincere and caring hotel staff. s

Friendly and accommodating

Huge resort with lots to do for all ages. Beautiful scenery and clean grounds. Extremely friendly staff and an enjoyable experience all around. We didn't want to leave. Food at the buffet was very good with a huge selection of different foods.

it was ok

Pros: The food was good, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: less soliciting.
I stayed at this resort for 4 days. the room was in poor condition. The Door that leads into the next room(hate those type of rooms) did not have a lock on it, and neither did balcony. We had to call for these items to be repaired. The bathroom tub was dirty, and the shower was tiny. The staff was friendly, maybe too friendly. I kept getting approached to buy weed, smh. The beach closest to the resort was very small and the trek to the bigger part of the beach was a bit of a walk, and crowded. I did enjoy the food and the availability hours of food. I did not have a bad time, but I wouldn't go back just because ive been to several other resorts and for the money I know I could do better.

staff are rude, property is poorly managed

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Management of staff
Location: Junky overpriced excursions and rocky beach that's more like a kiddy pool than an ocean.
They ran out of alcohol at most bars, staff were grumpy and reluctant to do anything you wanted them to do. Getting you a water is a hassle in their eyes. Huge disappoint, the hotel is more like a 3 star...
