Great stay

We went in January and the weather was great the hotel was definitely better than expected. I don't know why the ratings are so low but the food was great the facility was amazing the staff was nice we went with kids and we definitely enjoyed our stay

Hotel in General

Hotel is located about 45 minutes from any village. Pool area is nice and most restaurants. Took five calls over 2 days to get clock radio in room replaced. Remember no elevators in sleeping buildings and only 2 in main building. Area is spread out 1/2 mile on each side of main building. If you have trouble walking get 1st floor and a building close to main building. They do have a shuttle service.

My Jamaica vacation

Pros: Beaches and food
Cons: Bands that play at hotel are ok . They need to mix it up a little with different bands and different types of music.
Location: Snorkeling , sailing, horse back riding, zip line. There is so much to do you will defiantly not be bored.
Nice hotel, everything you need is on premises. Great food , beautiful beaches. Only one negative thing I have to say the female workers are not very friendly

Too short!

Pros: Beautiful, spacious rooms, cleanliness.
Cons: If you book a shuttle, plan 30 min. above your time.
Location: Didn't stray off the resort.
Beautiful place set on 24 acres of waterfront...many places to explore. If you crave solitude or crowds this is your destination.

Tired rooms, but really nice property.

Pros: Ala carte restaurants were really nice, and the staff was incredible.
Cons: Hotel rooms are quite beat up.
Location: Not much - as our driver said - "you are in the middle of nowhere." We only stayed 4 nights, but never felt any need to get off the resort.
The rooms at GP are a bit worn out, however very functional. Good beds, spacious bathroom, great shower. The resort itself was really enjoyable. We loved the numerous beach and pool options. The food and drink options and quality were much better than other all-inclusive properties we have visited. But what really made for a great trip was the friendliness and level of service of the staff. Unbelievable! We have visited other all-inclusives in the DR and Mexico, and they aren't even close. The staff is fun, energetic, accommodating, and never make you feel like you are imposing on them. The vibe is that they are proud of their resort, and are glad you have chosen them.

Food was good. Staff was very nice. The resort is huge and has a lot of things to keep you busy. There is several pools and a few beach options which was nice.

The resort it self is quite nice

Pros: The pool is fabulous
Cons: Better food selection. In the off season only one buffet is open.
Location: Stay at the resort unless you arrange a tour. It's not safe to leave the resort alone.
The resort is nice but single ladies need to be wary of the male staff trying to befriend them. I stayed here in August and got lured into a scam by one of the bartenders.He took me out a few times while I was there and I came home pregnant.From there it was fake I love yous and a fake marriage proposal he even pretended he was going to move to my country.It was all a scam to manipulate money from me.It went from send me money every month so we can buy a house together to my car broke down every second week.He even faked a funeral for his brother trying to get me to send 1500 cdn dollars to him.At this point I had figured out he was scamming me and I wouldn't send the money.He then started threatening to hurt me. I have thousands of messages from this con artist, I wish I could post them all up here to save even one woman from falling for this scam.It's likely he uses his job as a platform to be able to scam foreign woman. Single ladies beware of overly friendly staff and parents please don't let your daughters give out their phone numbers or Facebook to anyone there.

Nice Variety

Pros: Scenery!!! Sunset Cove and Coral Beach definitely are more hidden but worth the extra 5 minute walk from the main area of the hotel.
Cons: Something was always missed with the rooms- did not restock toilet paper one day. We slept in one day, missed the minibar restock- took 3 phones calls
Location: We stayed at the resort but I know it is very very close to the swim with the Dolphins and horseback riding in the water
My husband and I have stayed at different levels of hotels. Upon arrival at this one, we were pleased with the check-in process and quality. The room was about as expected from reviews and pictures, but the bathroom was in definite need of care. It was clean but old with lots of dings and obvious repair jobs. We booked last minute on Expedia and were placed at the far end of the hotel. We did not upgrade to a room with a view and were not surprised by lack of a view. However, the overall facility has extraordinary views. This is a joint facility with the Lady Hamilton side (recently updated rooms) and the Gran Palladium side (where we stayed). I am not sure if the Lady Hamilton guests get something more than the room updates. Everything was open to us, all bars, restaurants, and beaches. This is where this hotel stands apart. Though not obvious and talked up much, they have 4 beaches. Close to the main (gigantic pool) is what seems like the main beach. It is very nice, slightly rocky with broken shells, as this resort is nestled along the rocky more mountainous coast. Great water, mostly calm with some barriers set up to make it more of a lagoon in the sea. If you take a walk though to what seems more on the Lady Hamilton side (not far 5 to 10 minutes) are the hidden gem beaches, truly beautiful to watch the sunset at Coral Beach (which is also better for snorkeling and smaller swimming area) and Sunset Cove which has food also. Both of these are smoother sands and gorgeous!
