The staff was great, everyone was very friendly. They had people making sure everything was clean daily (floors, grass, trees, pool, sand)

Great Hotel, Really Get Your Money's Worth

Pros: Great food, wonderful staff, plenty to do. Vendors on site are not pushy. The property is kept VERY clean and the landscaping is beautiful!
Cons: The Bling is too hidden and not many people go to the shows. It's a shame because the shows are great, but the small crowds are not as much fun.
Location: Located 10 minutes from Dolphin Cove, Mystic Beach zip lining and bobsleds, and Dunn's River Falls. Lots to do in the area.
We had a party of six. The hotel staff was excellent! They greeted us with drinks, cold towels after a long 90 minute bus ride from the airport, and just had us fill out a quick questionnaire and sit on comfortable sofas while they checked in for us. Our rooms were very comfortable and clean, plenty of pillows, towels and were well stocked. The food was wonderful, take the time to try all of the restaurants on the property. Be aware when you book that the advertised hot tub in the room is only for suites, not the regular rooms. This was unclear on their website, but the spa has a great hot tub that is free with a reservation, so be sure not to miss. If you have a regular room that faces the pools, the music can be quite loud late into the night, so if this isn't something you could handle then request a room further away, like in the 5000's and it will be much quieter. There are resident cats, about 12 of them, so you should be aware of this if you have allergies. I love cats, so this was not a problem. They also have resident peacocks, which I thought was very cool. Special shout out to Jermaine, Crazy Kim, and Fallon and Xasha at the spa. (don't miss the massages, they are excellent!) Only concern, the beach is pure sand, so snorkeling is not good at all, and you cannot see the sunset as it sets behind other buildings. If you want to snorkel or see the sunset, you will have to leave the site to do so. All in all a great hotel. I would go back tomorrow!

We had problems from check in when we asked for room upgrades and we were told the resort was full when it clearly wasn't. Waited 3 days for our room air conditioner to get fixed. Majority of staff was unfriendly. Food and entertainment were decent. Didn't appreciate the constant marijuana smell. Will not recommend this resort.

Perfect getaway

Resort is nice ,it is close to alot of tours in the area, the staff are very helpful,just wish they had more choices at breakfast because we don't eat pork and more Jamaican dishes throughout the resort.

Well taken care of older hotel

Pros: Having a dock was great! We took Scuba diving lessons in the pool then left from the dock to have our first dive! The reef keeps the water calmer.
Cons: The spa set up is not great. I went twice and the noise level from down stairs is not relaxing if people are useing it. Negative vibe from spa staff.
Location: It is a two hour drive from the air port just out side of Ochos Rios.
We love the feel of this British Colonial style hotel. It was very hot and raining while we were there. Most of the public areas are open air and not airconditioned, so, we were a bit unconfortable for our casual meals. The indoor facililties ask you to dress up a little. Our room was facing away from the ocean and main pool area. This was good for us. The party goes on late into the night. We woke before many, the staff was always hard at work cleaning and maintaining everything. Tile on all flooring is beautiful. But, very slick. We noticed ants around the pool area and eating near by. Nothing that would stop us from returning. Had some good jerked chicken and pizza!

Horrible food and drinks!

The food and drink quality is so cheap! My friends and I, all got bugs in our drinks daily and the bartenders didn't care they just threw our drinks out and used the same cups in our face! I refused to tip the bartenders due to this issue and they even gave us worse service ignored us at the bar! The food was always cold at the buffet and the utensils were all dirty. So disgusting worst resort of my life. The air conditioner was broken for 5 days and they didn't even have a fan to offer us! The room was so humid we all got sick do to the food and also the AC being broken. The staff is always asking for tips which they shouldn't do and if you don't tip them you get attitude! The beach and pools are so dirty the sand was full of trash! Both jacuzzis were broken the entire week! Everything at the pool grill was frozen meat and exposed to the air with bugs flying around. It was horrible never coming back and I would never recommend this resort to anyone! The night activities were so louder just a DJ playing music that is it! Do not stay here!

Very good entry level All inclusive.

Pros: the swim up bars
The wife and I were here from 8-15 May, we had a very nice time and visit. We especially enjoyed the other guests we met, local restaurants, and activates that are close to this property. This a great but dated resort that provides an entry level all inclusive experience. If you've ever been on a cruise, this is a cruise ship that never leaves the pier, food quality, entertainment, even the demographic is the same (most folks are over 40). If you're looking for a $5-6000 AI experience for $3500-4000, this isn't the place, if that place even exists. The experience provided is on par with what it cost to stay here. As long as your expectations are realistic, you will enjoy your stay here.

Thank you Jewel Dunn's River!

Pros: The resort was very well kept and the staff were always working hard at maintenance and customer service.
Location: The hotel is right on the beach, which is great.
I travelled with my sister-in-law and we both had a fabulous time. The staff at the Jewel Dunn's River were amazing and left us with a great impression of Jamaica and its people (it was our first time visiting there).

Awesome resort with an awesome staff.

I really enjoyed my stay at the resort. The check-in process is somewhat antiquated, therefore delaying the process, but after that the stay was remarkable.
