Great Value for money, excellent choice of food, very friendly and helpful staff. The behind the scenes team were always cleaning, very good to see. Tennis and garden games were great fun. Thank you Royal Decameron for a lovely stay

Phoning it in

Posted Jan 29, 2018
Pros: beach front
Cons: food could be more diverse. update the rooms. train staff not to hit on the female guests.
The only redeeming quality of this hotel is the gorgeous beachfront. The room was really outdated, the bathroom tub had gross rust stains. The toiletries provided were not great. The hotel staff was inappropriate, asking not just me but many other unattached women for their number. I understand this may be culture but it was unpleasant and annoying on my vacation. The food was just okay, with little variety. The people at the registration desk were unbelievably slow. I had a massage and it was probably the biggest waste of money the whole time. The "spa" room is really just a hut off the pool - which in itself doesn't have to be bad. However, it was loud, they didn't bother to turn down the lights, there was no music to set the ambiance, and the second massage therapist kept coming in and out of the room the whole time. Overall, this place is just phoning it in. They can basically charge these absurd prices for the waterfront, but the hotel itself and the staff are not up to par. If I had known the rooms would be so shabby, I would have opted for a cheaper hotel on the water. Not worth the money!

Mediocre hotel, fairly clean, food poor selection

Posted Jan 16, 2018
Front desk- 50/50 shot of helpful and friendly or could really care less. If you stay here, before you even go to your room for 1st time ask for extra towels & washclothea. getting clean towels Was a nightmare. The extra $20 a day for internet is Not inclusive and a rip off, so is refrigerator rental. Stupid. It's modeled and reminds me of 90s cruise ship theme, from decor to entertainment. Some of which was good, others were cheesy. It was not a terrible stay, just was underwhelming. They do try to make it nice, just are missing the mark a bit. I feel it was overpriced for age/condition and food selection. It was clean overall, majority of wait staff is good with only a couple bad apples. We were on 2nd floor at the end and could be seen from public beach area, the noice and the constant locals harassment to me and wife when entering or leaving room was unbearable. Shouting at us to buy weed and anything else then walking the street while we walk corridor continueing to shout made wife feel unsafe. This was not cool. Don't accept a room on the far end by public beach, it stopped being a vacation and turned into a major hassle.

Go big or stay home

We spent our honeymoon at Jewels Runaway bay and then we decided to spend our 1 year anniversary here at royal Decameron so this is a comparison. 1. Customer service- on arriving to Decameron the bellhop was the first person we came across and he literally dragged his foot towards up. The staff at this place need some training on good customer service. The receptionist was wonderful though but most of the people here look at you like "What do you want now?" Their faces aren't inviting and most of them need to learn the art of smiling and just saying a pleasant good morning. On the other hand at Jewels we will never forget Donnovan he was our bellhop and he greeted us with the warmest smile and said the words every customer would want to hear "If you need anything at all dont be afraid to call me." 2. Food- Imagine being at an all you can eat buffet and the food just isn't appetizing so you dont even feel like going backfor seconds that's what its like at Decameron. We only enjoyed breakfast to be honest. The food at Jewels was awesome though. 3. Entertainment- this is the only area where Decameron takes the torch over Jewels. They actually do a wonderful job with presenting our culture to the tourist and the MC Samantha she is nice and she always did greet us with a good morning even when she was walking by. Andre was also a pleasure to watch he does most of the singing and you could sit and listen to him for ages. I would spend my money at Jewels again not here.

Nice affordable hotel.

This hotel was nice for the price. All inclusive, drinks were great and food was ok. The room was ok but shower and bathroom were a bit uncomfortable. Still great location to Margaritaville. Enjoyed the beach. Didn’t like that you had to pay for safe and WiFi. Only drawback I can think of.

Awful

Posted Dec 10, 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything, the people, the food, the entertainment. Rooms need updating.
Location: Hip street is scary. People very aggressive and relentless in their efforts
Awful. The resort was old outdated. Staff not friendly at all. Food was below average for the price. Customer service non existent. Will never stay here again
