We only spent a night there but our stay was very comfortable with the room, meals, and close proximity of the beach.

Pool was dirty,should supply shampoo in rooms

Staff was good hotel was ok, wish pool was clean when I checked in, didn't get cleaned until close to check out

Needs Serious Renovation!

Pros: People working & the food. They had 2 jet skis & 2 kayaks on the beach we never asked about because the water seemed rough when we were there.
Cons: A lot.
Location: If you stay & want to do an excursion I would recommend booking before you get here.
Stayed 6 days, Mon. thru Sat., Had hot water for one shower (mon. evening) the whole time I was there. Notified the desk 3 or 4 times, every time they said they would put a note in to the manager. It never helped. To compensate they gave us a small bottle of rum that we saw in a store for $3.50. The tv works once in awhile, not often. Every time I asked at the desk about an excursion they told me they would have to check with the manager to see & then I could come back later to see what they found out. The staff here tries to do their job but seemed to me they had their hands tied at times. They were very friendly always. Had a message in the spa & that was good for the price. Food was good. Night time entertainment is little to none. The bar isn't very big & they ran out of vodka while we were there. We made the best of it but will not return & will not recommend any one to stay here.

Hotel to be renovated

First trip to Jamaica

I had higher expectations of the hotel. Entrance and Lobby area is beautiful. Dining room and outside is beautiful. Bar, Rooms and food could be better. Was possible interested in having my wedding there basef on the pucs on the site but was very confused once I arrived as to where and how it would be and work. But overall it was a nice experience enough for my now fiancé to propose. Thank you.

Wonderful people, felt like home

Never expected hotel with kind caring people. Keep asking how we are doing , during our stay. Felt so comfortable and felt like home. So quite and food was great too.

Nice staff but facilities needs major improvements

We checked into the hotel for a 4 day stay starting January 28, 2016. The hotel staff were nice and accommodating. The room was clean however there was no iron in the room, if you wanted an iron you had to check this from the front desk which we found odd. The food was ok and good some of the times, but was limited. There was set meal times with very short time span in which to get your meal (approx 2-3hrs). One gets the impression if you don't go for meals early then you might not get anything to eat! The hotel infrastructure very badly needs a facelift, the hotel felt old and dated. It feels like the hotel was built in the 1920's and no one bothered to update facilities. There was almost nothing to do at the hotel except sit on the beach or pool. Night life was non-existent. The hotel is in a prime location if you drive, close to ocho Rios town but not exactly in the Hustle and bustle of things. Overall we had an interesting experience.

Dear Latoya, We thank you wholeheartedly for staying with us recently, especially commending the Staff for being nice and very accommodating !. Your concerns about Clothes Irons and Hair Dryers were noted, but these are normally kept at the Front Desk and not placed in the guest rooms. We know you found this odd, However the Desk is the distribution point, we have been utilizing this system for many years and this came about to protect the Hotel's inventory and service. Concerning meals and the times they are served, it is important to note that foods must prepared and properly and therefore Breakfast ( (our first meal) is served from 7.30am to 1030am and this time is above the norm of most Jamaican Hotels, two (2) hours is the standard. There is a two (2) hours break and then Lunch commences at 12.30pm. This service ends at 2.30pm. At 3.3pm Snacks/ Tea is served and lasting until 5.30pm. Dinner starts at 7.00pm and service goes up until 9.30pm. These times are similar to other Resorts and indeed your suggestions have been noted for considerations. Importantly, the Hotel was build in 1961, we are aware of its value and importance to Jamaica's History, than other Properties, however the style & architecture is different and still is maintained. Upgrading work is significant and is on-going and this will continue . Additionally, our Entertainment is limited and we are not the Property with 24 hours activities. We present a quiet, relaxing and peaceful experience, sought after by a large clientele, seeking a blissful holiday.
