"Classic Tuscan Palazzo Hotel"
This was a wonderful hotel/pensione to stay in while touring Montepulciano and the towns nearby. Palazzo Carletti is a centuries old palace with a wonderful huge main sitting area with very tall, frescoed walls. Our days of driving around Tuscany ended happily at the Palazzo and the free drinks trolley that was supplied was a welcome suprise. Our room was large with a very nice bathroom. The staff were friendly and gave us some good suggestions on towns to visit during the day. We would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Montepulciano.

Pocket Guide: Montepulciano, Siena Historic Hotels

Spread along a narrow ridge, Montepulciano is one of Tuscany’s highest hill-towns. On main transport routes from Siena and Florence, it makes a fine touring base. Foremost among a medley of photogenic palaces and churches within its ancient walls is the exquisitely proportioned Madonna di San Biagio. The region’s Vino Nobile wine draws many visitors, as does its July jazz festival and a barrel race through the streets in late August.
