We love that this property, although older, is located in a nice area and is very affordable. The area gives us a forest vibe, with the ocean within a 5 min drive.

Pleasant stay, not so great, needs improvement. The (my) room was somewhat dirty, meaning the rugs and carpet and the tiles at the bathroom was not up to standards, but overall, I enjoyed my stay in this motel.

Pleasant stay
Clean room with highly competitive price. No issue on noise from other rooms or road unlike other reviewers pointed out. Got a pre communication email that they don't have air conditioner, but they certainly do have wall heater so no problem. Wifi was fast enough so that we could enjoy YouTube. Overall, my family had a pleasant stay.

Convenient and reasonably priced for Monterey
The hotel was old but nicely kept up. The bed was too firm for me but if you like firm beds, you’ll be in hog heaven. The coffee was nothing special but it was in the room which is always nice. The hotel was quiet (if you don’t mind some road noise). Walkable to downtown Monterey (if you’re a walker like me).

There's absolutely nothing nearby. There's the 17 mile scenic drive, but it's alright.

One night stay in Monterey. Office staff was friendly, located in a nice area, not a lot of extras. No a/c but there was a large fan on a stand , which we used. Remodeled but not bathroom wall needed some attention.

Nice place to stay in Monterey. Clean and nice large room. Comfortable beds. No pool, but it wasn’t needed. The courtyard area was beautiful and well maintained.

No AC. No water pressure in shower. Like none. Soap wouldnt rinse off. I didnt even bother trying to shampoo and condition my hair. The bed was decently comfortable. Pillows suck. Just dont do it. There are so many other hotels

The room looks very old and was smelling like smoke, even no smoking signs are posted all over the premises. They should really be honest when renting to a non smoker due to asthma,. The bathtub was very dirty and it needs to be well maintained and it had cracks and there were hairs from the previous guest. Lastly there were something crawling in the bed. The amount they charged it was not a good experience over all.

This is an older property, but it seems to be reasonably well maintained. The owner/management clearly cares, with potted flowers spread around the grounds. The lack of air-conditioning might be a negative in the eyes of most, but all of the rooms had good cross-ventilation, and nights on the Monterey peninsula tend to be cool and there was strong, telescoping stand-mounted, 3-speed, selectable oscillation fan. The bathroom, particularly the tub, could benefit from a rehab, but it was clean. Towels were clean and plentiful, with travel-size soaps and shampoo provided. The room had a min-fridge, a working iron and ironing board, a television with DirecTV, a king-sized bed, desk and chair, two night stands and bed-side lights with controls that could be reached from the bed. I would stay at this property again.

Budget option in Monterey
This is a fine hotel in a decent location. We stayed over a weekend when hotel prices across the city were quite high- including this one. It's hard to feel that the quality reflected the price we paid but it was the cheapest option we could find so I think it was just unfortunate timing for us.

Wonderful room with view of the blue sparking pool through glass sliding door for wonderful fresh costal air…too bad the pool and hot tub are closed permanently due to city regulations. The patio was nice though to sit and visit with the pool view.

I didn't like that after I booked and paid for the hotel room. I get a message that pool and jacuzzi are closed indefinitely. No air condition in the room, but they did have a fan inside room that helped cool room. Non smoking hotel or outside premises you see people walk into the lobby and they not once mentioned to the lady to put out her cigarette.

The overall hotel is nice, but we are disappointed that the pool and hot tub were not available!! We really wanted to use the hot tub. The bed was very uncomfortable too. Nice people, and in a safe area.
