It's an okay hotel, just to sleep and leave!

Checking in was a hassle. The guy in the front desk wasn't the nicest/ helpful at all. Had a little problem with the deposit money. He said the deposit would be return the day of departing the hotel but for some reason he gave it back to me the same day as checking in, in an envelope without telling me and I almost misplaced it. Why say one thing and do another?! Good thing I found the envelope in the hotel room before leaving. Also, breakfast can be improved. Maybe more options.

Very Cheap, but Very Noisy

Could hear everything from the rooms to the left and right of me. I happen to be located right next to a cowboy with a guitar that strummed his guitar while singing his cowboy tunes all night. I was praying that his women that left him would hurry up and return to him soon so that he could giddy up and GO to sleep!!!

All good until breakfast time

This is a decent hotel for a one night stay. The room was small but clean and quiet. I loved the outdoor flower beds and greenery. BUT: we were COMPLETELY turned off in the morning when we entered the breakfast area and noticed that there was no room to sit and eat. The one table available had not been cleaned and more people were coming in to eat. I peeked into the kitchen/cleaning room to see if there was an employee we could ask to clean the table but there was no one around so I called the front desk and informed them of the situation. First, the lady at the front desk answered with a "Yeah?" I was confused so I asked if this was the front desk and the only response I got was another "yeah?" I proceeded to inform her that tables were needing cleaned and her response was "Well, you can eat outside." I was like "excuse me?" She again said that we could just eat outside in the patio area. That wouldn't have been a problem except it was 50 degrees and drizzly that morning. She never once said ok we can get someone over there to assist you or anything. Her customer service skills were AWFUL. We checked out and ate somewhere else.

This hotel was very clean and close to beach.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was very clean and close to the beach, shopping, and lots of great places to eat.

Great stay in Monterey

Pros: Proximity to attractions
Cons: Front desk staff service.
Location: Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, Carmel by the Sea
This hotel is in the northern area of Monterey. About a 5-10 minute drive from Fisherman's Wharf, Carmel by the Sea, and Cannery Row. Great location. There are closer hotels to those areas but they are more expensive. I paid about 60 bucks a night and the room was very comfortable. Big bed, clean sheets, big bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was convenient. There were eggs, sausage, various types of bread, juices, oatmeal, fruits, a waffle maker, and teas and coffees. Enough to get the day started. Parking was right in front of our hotel room and we checked in late at night. Definitely would stay here again.

Had to get my room key reset two days in a row because they kept setting it for on day.

Room is too small. Hardly any room to maneuver. Noisy can hear commotion around

People were banging next door and we could hear them moan so disgusting my 5 year old was asking what noise was that so stupid! It's not the hotel fault but we got 2 beds for the same reason we didn't want to hear people banging ! I wouldn't go again for that reason!

Good value, comfortable room

We booked this hotel after doing lots of comparisons. This was by far the lowest price for the best reviewed hotel in the Monterey area. The hotel is on a busy road so some of the rooms are noisier than others. We asked the nice guy at the front desk if he could move us to a room further from the road and he was very accommodating. The décor has been recently updated in the rooms, with hard flooring (laminate?), new bedding, and some new furniture. The bathroom was a less updated than the room, but clean and functional.
