Pros: It's close enough to the beach and to major shopping, and it's very affordable.
Location: Beach is fairly close (3 minute cap ride), shopping and food is all around it, including a big 24 hr Safeway and a 24 hr Walgreens.
Folks running the motel are extremely nice and sociable.

Cheap hotel near Monterey

Posted Jan 1, 2017
Pros: Free parking
Cons: Breakfast
I liked the price and free parking available. Breakfast could have more variety and the danishes seemed to be outdated .

Good place for the price.

Posted Dec 20, 2016
Pros: Good price, clean room, centrally located, the fridge and heater worked great, and a pokestop at the Sprint store next door.
Cons: A softer bed, better selection for breakfast especially adding fruit and protein.
Location: It was off a busy main street with lots of restaurants and stores close by, most within walking distance. Monterey is close by and so is CSMB.
The room was good enough for a one night stay. The bed was very firm, and I like a soft bed. Not much was offered for breakfast, I ended up going to a fast food place within walking distance. The room itself was very nice and the fridge was large and worked great! It was easy to find and close to just about everything.

Cozy place, but quite barebones

Posted Dec 16, 2016
Cozy place, fitted my preference, but quite barebones for those not expecting it. The hotel staff could have been friendlier, especially since that is often the pro of a small place.

Pretty on the outside

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Pros: Really pretty outside with the flowers and other plants. Great location.
Cons: The front desk person could've been more friendly. The handles on drawers were broken or missing. The hair dryer wouldn't go back on it's holder.
Location: Right next to the hotel, there's a diner called The Breakfast Club that's open til 3 PM. Their banana foster french toast is excellent.
Great location. There's a great little Mexican place across the street called Taqueria Zarape, 8AM -10PM. Walgreens and Safeway near by are 24 hrs. The outside of the hotel is beautifully maintained. The desk person could be more friendly. I got a single queen bed room for my parents while they were visiting and the room was comfortably large and clean. The free continental breakfast had no eggs, just cereal, muffins, pastry, maybe apples and bad coffee.
