Very nice stay, close to downtown Pasadena

This is a very inviting, friendly hotel within easy walking distance to restaurants in downtown Monterey. (There's an excellent Thai restaurant in the little plaza across the street.) It was also a short walk to the nearest stop for the free trolley that took us to the Aquarium. The restaurant in the main building serves tasty dinners, and the breakfasts are fine for a hotel (the quality at dinner is noticeably higher, probably due to the different chef in charge then). It was quiet at night.
Our only suggestion would be to install blackout liners on the windows. There was a room-darkening shade, but it still allowed a fair amount of light.

Thank you for your detail review of Hotel Abrego and the surrounding area.
We appreciate your comments about the hotel and restaurant and we do have different chef working the breakfast and dinner service.
We do have black out drapes in our guests rooms but we do have shades to that do not do as well as the drapes. Thank you for this feedback and we will work on looking at different solutions.
Looking forward in welcoming you back
