Pros: very nice shower bed was comfortable room was clean
Cons: The hotel does not have air-conditioning.
Location: The restaurants are fantastic in PG and Monterey. The trails that line the bay are fabulous for walking, running or biking. The aquarium is top notch
This hotel is ok. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is located right next to a cemetery which I thought was cool until I realized it is still in use. They had a graveside funeral about 70 yards from our back patio. We did have a little mishap with the temperature in the room-the hotel DOES NOT have air conditioning. Our room was very hot the second night and I could not sleep. At about 4:50 a.m. I called the front desk to ask for assistance in turning on the air. (I jokingly told the lady you must need a phD to operate their thermostat) She gave me instructions that did not work. She was telling me how to turn off the heater not turn on the air conditioner. She never told me they did not have air-conditioning.

Enjoyed the hotel, the beds were comfortable, room was spacious the location was only 600 yards away from the Asilomar Beach.

Wrong Room

Not sure if this is Expedia's fault or the hotels fault but it certainly isn't my fault. When I book this room I specifically said there was a three person occupancy two adults and one 10-year-old child. They gave us a king room with nowhere for my son to sleep. When I brought this to their attention and they said Expedia doesn't tell them specifics and I should have called to verify we were getting the room we asked for. This is ridiculous since the whole point of Expedia and other websites is that you don't have to deal directly with the hotel. The hotel staff were quite rude and indignant about it and we were forced to pay $50 extra for a room that could accommodate all three of us. Not sure who to blame but I'm not happy.

Sometimes when you booked thru certain third parties they have the option for ROOM SELECTED AT CHECK IN or RUN OF HOUSE reservations which means there is no guaranteed room type or the number of beds. If you selected this type of booking that probably would have been the situation and if we did not have a room with 2 beds and all we had was a suite than that's probably why you were charge an upgrade fee. I'm not exactly sure if that was situation in this case, but i will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. We sincerely apologize that the staff did not handle the situation properly. Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention as it is appreciated.

Awful customer service

Good Hotel

Pros: Location
Cons: Receptionist not the friendliest although not rude, just not very talkative
Location: Near the Beach and easy access to Monterey
This is a pleasent Hotel, near to the Beach and centrally located.

2nd time here, will come again. Love the fire pits, great place to meet other people from all over.

Nice hotel close to central California sites

Pros: The location of this hotel was perfect home base for exploring central CA. The Pacific Grove coast is beautiful! There are good restaurants downtown.
Location: Walk to Point Pinos lighthouse, golf course, and beach. An easy drive to Santa Cruz, Monterey, downtown Pacific Grove, Carmel, Big Sur, Point Lobos.
The lodge part of the hotel has two stories; all the rooms with two full-sized beds are located on the lower level of the lodge part of the hotel. The people staying in the room above us were very noisy but when I spoke with the front desk staff, they quickly switched us over to the cottages across the street. The cottage rooms are large, with a king size bed, big bathroom, fireplace, sleeper sofa, and kitchenette. The room in that part of the complex was amazingly quiet so I would recommend that part if you're looking for a quieter setting. There are deer that wander through the complex and one day we saw a doe and her fawn grazing right outside our window. The coast of Pacific Grove is beautiful!

Room was large and comfortable. Shower tile grout needed cleaning and toilet bowl needed scrubbing. We asked for extra pillows twice, were told we'd get them soon and they never came. Otherwise no problems.

Take your money elsewhere

Pros: The staff in the lobby were very helpful.
Cons: Asked for extra towels and pillows and the person who dropped them off was rude. Almost as we were an inconvenience to them.
Location: Pacific Grove is very calm. Shops and restaurants nearby.
This hotel was a HUGE disappointment. Beds are very uncomfortable, pillows were almost flat. We stayed in the bottom level and heard all of the noise from the upper level. The continental breakfast was very stale. The only two positive things were the room being clean and the location being calm.
