Three things I wanted: Experience, Service, Sleep
Posted Oct 21, 2013
First the good: the Service was spectacular! All of the little touches and thoughtfulness, were awesome. The food was super yum and very turn of the century service. Absolutely lovely with views overlooking the Pacific where you can watch otters and sea lions play.
The less good was that the bed was less than comfortable. Maybe that's because we have a premium mattress at home and this felt like it had 16 springs on each side. It left us feeling unrested and achy. This was the Monterey room. The overall furnishings were definitely turn of the century which was nice, but the wall paper, carpeting and drapery was dark and dingy overall which led to a more depressing, run-down feeling.
