I couldn't have ordered a better hotel resort than the Monarch Resort it was absolutely fabulous for me. The swimming pool is heated the spa tub is at 104° Perfect the Landscaping was absolutely gorgeous with all the flowers and plants and trees. Very clean rooms assistance helping me with my luggage was very nice at the front desk was easy to access to get in my room there's not enough I can say about this Resort made my vacation very lovely. I give this hotel 100 Stars.

Staff was rude,when asking for anything ( towels, T-P, even coffee mugs. I’d ask a question about the vending machines, was flat out ignored. One of my party was sick all over the bathroom, it took 6 hour before they came and did a barely passable cleaning. Ants in the room, sheets were to be cleaned every 3rd day, didn’t happen for us. The only saving grace was a wonderfully helpful young man at the front desk, who went out of his way to get juice for the diabetic’s needs.

I’m sort you feel this way since we always receive high rating about our staff like providing orange juice when requested.Our housekeeping staff needed to clean rooms for incoming guests and we did the best we could to help your guest clean up even though it’s beyond the normal housekeeping. Our new front desk agent missed your third day service so for that we apologize.

This is a one-of-a-kind property which I have booked year after year. From the indoor garden to the old 70's styling, I love it. Good value too!

There was human feces wiped on the toilet paper holder in multiple spots, at the same time my wife turned on the tv with the remote and it stunk and stuck to her hand! The room was disgusting and we left and did not stay at this resort

After investigating we found that there was no feces as stated. Our housekeeping staff and our cleanliness is highly rated, in addition to using the “clean” TV remote controls. We offered you another room but you declined.

Our last renovation was not that long ago; although not ultra modern our rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable with hotel like plant lined indoor corridors.

Quiet area. Half mile from trails along the ocean and amazing tide pools. Spacious room with fireplace and balcony. Pool, hot tub and sauna were great! Downtown Pacific Grove has a great restaurants-- International Cuisine had excellent Cioppino. At just under 1 mile away, this was a walkable destination. Near Cannery row, we visited Paprika Cafe and had delicious hummus and falafels. Monarch sanctuary wasless than quarter mile away from the hotel. Visited in February and still saw a hundred or more monarchs flying around.

The first night the room had a leak from the ceiling, we had to be moved to another room in the middle of the night. Staff responded to our call, however, did not compensate us for the inconvenience we experienced. Will not stay here in the future.

The property is an older property, but the rooms are clean and the staff is nice. We have stayed here many times before and we like it. It is quiet, safe and centrally located. It is a good value.

Lovely fall visit
The location was great, within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops, and the gorgeous coastline. Our room was spacious and had a fireplace which we enjoyed. We didn't use the heated pool or hot tub but next time!
