Convenient location

Posted Jan 23, 2016
Pros: Convenient location
Location: Places to eat not so far distance.
Shower door can't shut closed so when you take a shower, water splatters out of the shower stall onto the bathroom floor. Toilet paper is half roll and no extra roll, and so kleenex tissues are only three pieces left in the bathroom when I came in. Bathroom towels are small, thin, and old. Bathroom floor needs to be mopped with pinesol and so bedroom carpet needs to be vacummed. When you move a bit or toss around when you sleep, the headboard hit/bang onto the wall...it could disturb guests next room.

Nice motel close to highway.

Posted Jan 22, 2016
Pros: The room we stayed in was large and very clean.
Location: There was a mall that we tried which was really nice. About a 10 min drive. It was also close to major attractions. The wharf and aquarium.
Check in took some time but the staff were nice enough. Great clean rooms. Breakfast was good. Easy to get back onto the freeway and get us back on our road trip. Not too far from the fisherman's wharf.

Ok for the price but service can be hit or miss

Posted Jan 19, 2016
Pros: Has everything that u would expect from a 2 star motel
Cons: Service, friendliness, planning ahead for special needs
Location: Decent amount of restaurants nearby, u mainly stay here if you are visiting the Monterey peninsula and visiting the aquarium or cannery row.
We needed a crib and had indicated this while booking, but didn't get it the first night. The lady at the front desk could have easily given us a close room since she saw that we had a baby but she gave an easy access room away without even thinking ahead to a young guy who didn't have to carry a stroller, and 2 other bags to the 2nd floor room. Also didn't get a good warm feeling from the staff.

It delivers what you would expect.

Rooms are plenty spacious - older but clean. The beds were not great but not awful - too soft and some bounciness that caused minor back discomfort for one of us. The room had a mini-fridge and microwave. They leave the fridges off, so be prepared to turn it on ASAP if you arrive with things that need to stay chilled. The coffee maker was appreciated BUT took 15 minutes to make a 2-cup pot; it probably needs a vinegar run, or to be replaced. Breakfast is simple (toast, bagels, muffin slices, cereal) - appreciate that they had both apples and bananas available. There is airplane noise overhead; we used a White Noise app on the iPad to help block it out. Overall, this inn is just what you would expect.

It is not too bad for the price

Room and bed are clean. It is a old hotel. But the price is reasonable.

horrible

Posted Nov 30, 2015
Cons: better heaters, better water pressure
Location: bad location planes flying over all hours
much cheaper hotels with much better quality. also had to move rooms at 10:30 at night due to a barking dog, the new room the heater was junk and did not warm the room after being on all night.

Reservation totally mishandled

Posted Nov 29, 2015
Booked this hotel only because they said they could handle larger dogs. I live in Carmel where most of the hotels only handle pets up to 20 pounds. My brothers came in for Thanksgiving and needed a place that could handle their 50 pound Lab. I specifically called the hotel directly to confirm they could handle the larger dog and they confirmed they could and I booked the hotel based on their assurance they could. When my brothers showed up they were told they did not have a pet friendly room available for the first night. The second night had pet friendly rooms available HOWEVER they were not booked in one so would have to book the second night separately. But of course they could only do that if they cancelled their second booked night. Oh but wait, they couldn't do that because of the 48 hour prior notice requirement. Result, their 60 pound lab had to be boarded at a local kennel both nights at a cost to them of $150. Not to mention the substantial hassle and loss of their pets availability for two days (couldn't play with the other family pets on Carmel beach as we had all planned). Front desk person was NO help; and neither was the assistant manager. Apparently the manager was unavailable until after my brother's stay was over. Totally unsatisfied. Would recommend others STAY AWAY.
