You can't beat the access to the beach...

While there were a few communication problems with issues at first; we couldn't get into room using key yet no one came and we had to go back to the lobby, no coffee in the room, no response when we called about the heater even though we were told maintenance would be there immediately ( a very sweet housekeeper helped us with the trick door). Once we solved these issues everything else was great. It was very clean and comfortable in the rooms once we figured out the heater. The staff was very friendly and helpful, it just seemed as though perhaps they were over-worked or understaffed for winter break. That being said, the hotel is in a lovely spot, has beautiful romantic views in the lobby with couches where you can sit and gaze at the waves, a wonderful beach with outside seating and even bonfires if you'd like. We got 'garden view' with no true garden, but so easy to walk around the corner to the great view of the beach and access. The hotel was very easy to get to, easy parking, and easy to get to both Monterey and Carmel (however traffic in both places was intense!) I'd go back.

Thank you for your great review. I was so happy to read that you loved the view and location and that our staff were friendly. However I was concerned to see that you had some initial problems with the room and room keys. I would like to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. On a lighter note I am glad that the team were able to resolve your issues.
