Tucked AwayPosted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: Ambience: warm and cosy.
Cons: More lighting for entrance.
Location: Monterey Bay Aquarium is 15 minute drive away. Asilomar is just 2 minutes walk.
The Pacific Gardens has a pleasant, homey ambiance, tucked away just steps from the entrance to Asilomar, the reknowned conference center. We were on our honeymoon and they were friendly (although the young girl at the front desk wasn't quite as knowledgeable about the recommended restaurant as she should have been). The fireplace didn't disappoint, the continental breakfast was very good and it has the overall feeling of a lodge. The area is difficult to maneuver at night: street signs and lights are almost non-existent and one should plan travel during the day. Overall, a warm, wonderful weekend.

Perfect in everyway.Posted Mar 29, 2014
Cons: The pillows.
Location: The Fishwife was very good place to eat with in walking distance.
I researched a pet friendly hotel for a numerous hours and finally decided on the Pacific Garden. There was no pet deposit they did not ask how big my dog was or how many. I was a bit nervous I was hoping it was everything I had read about, at it was the hotel staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Our room was larger than the average hotel room the fire place was also one of the deciding factors, the pop corn and popper were a nice touch. The happy hour is a very generous feature on their part and they did not skimp, the breakfast was also very plentiful with delicious coffee. The beach was within in easy walking distance another huge factor, I was a bit skeptical about everything it all sounded too good to be true but I was not disappointed I was delighted I am so glad I stayed here and will continue to stay here and recommend it to every responsible pet owner as it certainly made it easy and affordable. You can spend a lot more money but for the price this is an incredible find.

Nice place, nice locationPosted Mar 17, 2014
Reading some other reviews I was surprised how some people wish to slam a place just because one thing didn't go right, or they had a bad day. If you are looking for the Ritz, you will probably be disappointed here. Its a perfectly fine little place across from Asilomar in a wooded area not far from the beach. Room was clean. Very acceptable and pleasant. The parking is a little limited. Ordinary continental breakfast with nice pastries. Nice touch to have the wine and cheese in the afternoon. (No, not Ritz quality wine or cheese.) I will definitely go back.

Very nice hotelPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Charming with fireplaces
Cons: A little aged.
Location: Excellent location
This is a very nice hotel in a lovely setting in Pacific Grove. Private and quiet with very friendly staff and rooms with fireplaces. Nice continental style breakfast in the morning and wine and cheese in the evening. A little aged, but charming.
