We had an experience where someone entered our room and went through our bags and swapped a nice corkscrew that we brought from home with a crappy plastic one. The staff claim they checked the cameras and nobody but us entered the room. Very suspicious this item we have never seen or own happen to show up in my bag and our wood handled corkscrew is gone? Then when I went to go check if anyone had been in our room, me and another guest were waiting at the front desk for quite some time. We knocked on the door, yelled to the back and nothing.. finally the guy showed up and was waiting tables at the restaurant. He opened the side door and there was someone in the back sitting on her phone! Totally ignoring us in the front the whole time! However the rooms need updating, mold in the bathroom specifically the shower head (easy fix) and the ceiling. The finishing in the tub was also peeling which was gross. There are not many hotel in Carmel with AC so beware! This one did not have AC but we got the room with the ocean view and it was amazing! You can ditch your car and just roam the streets excellent location. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance of the hotel was also very nice and regal.
