Unique hotel in the heart of Carmel

Such a unique hotel! It has a retro 50's motor court feel yet is completely updated and modern. The rooms are fantastic. The fire pit in the courtyard is the perfect place to gather before heading out to dinner. The free breakfast was delicious and offered an option for every taste. Definitely highly recommend this hotel!

Beautiful!!

Pros: Clean, quiet, modern room with everything you needed.
Great location. We arrived and was greeted by a wonderful staff member who gave us some dinner recommendations and a map of Carmel. We enjoyed some cheese and crackers and sat in the beautiful courtyard area. We walked down to see the sunset and took an Uber from there to Mission Ranch Restaurant for a magical anniversary dinner.

Cozy Updated Hotel

The hotel seemed to be recently renovated and has a cute courtyard. The water pipes were a bit noisy, and the walls and floors were a little too thin. I could hear the people above walking and the people next door, even though they were not being loud. The room was a bit on the smaller side, and although the bathroom had a fun sliding barn door, it did not provide any privacy. Parking is a challenging so it is good that so much is available within walking distance.

Good location. No air conditioning.

Parking is difficult. The location is the best thing the Hide a Way has going for it. Rooms are clean and adequate. Their wine and cheese party was a joke; by the time we got there the wine in the twist top bottles was gone as was the cheese and one of the guests was putting all the crackers into a ziplock bag to take to her room.

Everything was lovely-especially the wine and cheese hour and the breakfast. Only one small (very small) complaint/ suggestion... Too much light comes in at night... More shades?

Not worth full price

The property and room were very stylish and clean. The complimentary champagne at breakfast and wine in the afternoon is a wonderful treat. I do have one major complaint and that is the sound insulation. When in the room, we could hear our neighbors conversations as well as any noise going on the in the courtyard just outside the door. The slamming of doors was quite jarring. Especially when deep asleep, we were awoken several times by screaming or slamming doors.
