Ok hotel close to the centre not much atmosphere.

Ok hotel, fine pool though the smell of the gas to heat the jacuzzi was a pity. Good playground for the kids (3 & 5). Fine location.

Nice place

Posted Apr 11, 2016
Location: Some restaurants and shopping can be found across the street. A 5 minute walk will get you into the main part of the town of Monteverde.
We arrived to the hotel via jeep-boat-jeep shuttle. The hotel is easy walking distance from town, but is overall located in a quiet area. The pool and jacuzzi are nice, with some nice relaxing common areas that have a nice view to the west.

Dear guest, your feedback about your stay with us is well appreciated. We apologize for the discomfort you may have felt regarding noise, please remember that waiting until you leave our premises or get home to express your concerns is in no way beneficial nor effective. It leaves us with a very few choices, no more than offer an apology for the inconvenience. That will always be a gesture that will ring hollow after an unpleasant stay. We feel like there is much we could have done to make your experience better, our staff is always willing to help...perhaps we could have upgraded your room. We hope you had a wonderful vacation regardless. Happy travels!

Nice location downtown, good food and staff

Posted Feb 29, 2016
Pros: good location, staff and food. Has a jacuzzi and pool!
Cons: put at least one chair in each room!
Location: close to several restaurants and shops and numerous sights and activities.
This place is run well and has a jacuzzi and full service restaurant. There are some nice grounds and views of the surrounding forest. It is within walking distance to stores and restaurants in town, but the flipside of the location is the noise issue. The road runs hard by the place and the sound and smells of Deisel motors working up the mountain road is noticeable except during normal sleeping hours. The staff are good and the food is a pleasant surprise for a hotel. The decor is showing some wear and parking is tight.

Great Overall Experience

Posted Jan 24, 2016
Pros: Staff; bed; restaurant.
Cons: More hot water; much much better WiFi.
Location: This hotel is on the road to Monteverde, and the eponymous bus makes a stop right at the hotel. The town of Santa Elena is a ten-minute walk away.
Stayed two nights during the end of January, 2016. Is a great hotel for the Santa Elena / Monteverde region. Is not inexpensive, but it appears that nothing in Costa Rica is (side note: if you want "cheap travels", go to Nicaragua or Guatemala). Good things about the hotel include: great staff; comfortable bed; amazing restaurant. Bad things include: thin walls; fleeting hot water; terrible WiFi.

Ok hotel for the price.

Posted Oct 26, 2015
Pros: The location was great because it was central to a lot of restaurants, ticos and services. They had free movies to check out.
Cons: Get rid of the bugs in the room, and replace the roof with something that is soundproofing.
Location: Lots of coffee shops and other tourist trap places with trinkets and other souvenirs to purchase. There was also a reptile house that was overpriced.
We stayed there for a few nights. First the staff is excellent and the service is great. The restaurant has excellent food and they are very friendly. The only reason I gave it a poor mark on the rooms was because the roof is covered with a plastic cover and it amplified the sound of the rain at night which made it difficult for me to sleep. Also, there were these bugs in the room that jumped and looked like big fleas. Maybe they don't have a bug service which I guess is a good thing for an eco type of place, but still unpleasant to look at. Our bathroom wall by the shower was wet and the paint was chipping. The on site hot tub is not hot at all, just above 98 degrees. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice.

A 3 star hotel

Posted Jun 5, 2015
Pros: The swimming pool is nice, just not very much used by anyone. Gardens are also nice. The location is right in the middle of the small town.
Cons: Needs new bed sheets, and mattress. As well as better maintenance, especially bedroom and bathroom.
Location: You can find plenty of food around, and even some vegan options at 3min walking distance. Coffee shop with soy milk is nearby.
The hotel actually have an impressive facilities compared to hotels of this price. But... they don't pay attention to the main aspects of a hotel as much as the facilities.

It's a place to sleep.

Not a big fan of this hotel, but being Monteverde I think this maybe towards the top sadly. (Sliding doors did not lock, no fridge, very basic). Only recommending if staying in Monteverde. If this was anywhere else this would be a 2 star hotel.
