Nice location downtown, good food and staff

Posted Feb 29, 2016
Pros: good location, staff and food. Has a jacuzzi and pool!
Cons: put at least one chair in each room!
Location: close to several restaurants and shops and numerous sights and activities.
This place is run well and has a jacuzzi and full service restaurant. There are some nice grounds and views of the surrounding forest. It is within walking distance to stores and restaurants in town, but the flipside of the location is the noise issue. The road runs hard by the place and the sound and smells of Deisel motors working up the mountain road is noticeable except during normal sleeping hours. The staff are good and the food is a pleasant surprise for a hotel. The decor is showing some wear and parking is tight.

Great Overall Experience

Posted Jan 24, 2016
Pros: Staff; bed; restaurant.
Cons: More hot water; much much better WiFi.
Location: This hotel is on the road to Monteverde, and the eponymous bus makes a stop right at the hotel. The town of Santa Elena is a ten-minute walk away.
Stayed two nights during the end of January, 2016. Is a great hotel for the Santa Elena / Monteverde region. Is not inexpensive, but it appears that nothing in Costa Rica is (side note: if you want "cheap travels", go to Nicaragua or Guatemala). Good things about the hotel include: great staff; comfortable bed; amazing restaurant. Bad things include: thin walls; fleeting hot water; terrible WiFi.

Our location, added values, facilities, details, and specially our service are all up the best standards. It is true our WI-FI works better as closer as you get to the public areas, front desk and restaurant. We are apologize if you experienced issues with the hot water. Basic at Best

Posted Dec 21, 2015 on Hotels
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Poco a Poco for 1 night as part of our honeymoon. Although we booked the Deluxe Room (Quetzal)and the room was very simple with a view of roof shingles below us. We were welcomed with a nice watermelon drink but rushed to finish it so they could keep the glasses at reception. One of the attendants helped us carry our bags to our room on the top floor. The bed was large and comfortable but the room was very noisy. You could hear guests walking up and down the stairs or wheeling their luggage at all hours. We were right in front of the stairwell so the location wasn't the greatest. There is no air conditioning at this hotel but it was freezing that night so we just curled up under the blankets. There was a festival going on across the street which we checked out before bed. We headed to bed around 1030 because we had an early morning and the noise was unbelievable with the crowds and fireworks. The windows are so thin it felt like the fireworks were exploding right in our room and not sure why there were half open windows going into the hallway. The only thing at this hotel that we really loved was the views getting to and from it, as well as the food in the restaurant and their wine selection - We had the beef tenderloin in coffee marinade. The hotel needs a major updating as well as better windows to keep the noise/bugs out. This hotel serves its purpose for a one night stay, but I wouldn't stay for an extended trip.

Our hotel room was very small but it did have a third bed so our kids could sleep seperately. It was hidden behind the kitchen which made it dark and a bit noisy. Maybe if we had a different room, it would've been a nicer stay.

Релакс-отдых недалеко от парка Монтеверде

Posted Dec 1, 2015 on Hotels
