Not what expected

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Stayed at the Woodlands Resort in July but due to location booked a suite at La Toretta. The called 2 days before I was to arrive to tell me they were moving me to a tower suite vs a lakefront cottage due to repairs not being completed on cottages. I was ok with that. They told me I would be a VIP guest because of the inconvenience but there was nothing VIP about the stay. Room condition was not really clean (hair in bath & on bedsheets when we checked in, dirty hand towel, towels still wet, etc). Windows in bedroom were so dirty couldn't enjoy the lake view. Staff was not friendly & actually appeared annoyed if you had a question. When the valet pulled my car around at check out, he popped the trunk & walked away as soon as I handed him a tip even though my luggage was sitting by the trunk. It's worth the extra drive to stay at a much cleaner & more customer friendly place like the Woodlands!

Candis, Thank you for sharing your feedback in this forum.  We appreciated your understanding regarding the room move we needed to make due to the upgrades we are making in our cottages.  It is unfortunate there were aspects of your stay which were disappointing to you, and that we did not meet all of your expectations.  We strive for our guests to have a quality stay from arrival to departure, and hope you will reconsider staying with us again so we can regain your confidence in our hotel.

Not satified

Posted Oct 30, 2017
We checked in and upon entering our room, one of the maintenance staff was checking the light bulbs to make sure everything was working properly. The next morning we received a bill which included $25 in "Administrative Fees" which they told us covered WiFi and hotel ammenities. Shouldn't that be included in the cost to stay per night??? The valet had a hard time finding my vehicle, or the key fob. Took 30 minutes so I went on a foot search for the vehicle while the valet staff asked my wife to come identify the key fob. For the price for a room, I would have figured there would have been better service and staff more on top of their game.

Run down and shabby “resort”

Posted Oct 22, 2017
This hotel is NOT worth the price and I would recommend not staying here. The staff was unhelpful over the phone and when booking and it seemed severely understaffed while walking around the place. The place was in serious need of repairs and upkeep. Very dirty floors and hallways, hallway walls were very marked up and dented etc. In our room, the furniture had tears in the the chairs and sofas. And you’re paying this high price in the middle of no where when I’ve stayed at Days Inns much nicer. They also charge a “resort fee” on top of the booking price, so it’s more expensive than it appears. The resort fee covers the pool, fitness center, etc... and when we asked why we have to pay this when they are closed for renovation we got no help. So we have to pay for closed amenities that we had no plan of actually using anyways? That’s not okay. This should be optional. AND breakfast is not included? It’s pretty standard to have breakfast included, especially when you’re paying that much. But no, it’s $20 a person. These people will charge you for EVERYTHING they can. Overall, this hotel was fine if I was staying for a third of the price at Motel 6, where I would recommend you stay instead of here.

GROSS!

Posted Sep 28, 2017
There was something hard and crusty stuck to a blanket that cane out of the closet, then we found a dead bug on one of the beds. We requested all the linens to be changed with clean linens. When my daughter went to unfold the "clean" blanket and cover up for the night, she jumped up and screamed because there was a live bug (this looked like a bed bug )crawling on the blanket that was just unfolded. We immediately packed up out belongings and left the hotel at 10:00p.m. We never even stayed the night. Not to mention only one pool was open, there was no arcade and the hotel staff closed thr children's area after the kids had been in there for 10 minutes.

Very disappointed in the condition of the resort. It was in need of repair in a number of areas. TVs didn't work...and we were trying to monitor the hurricane! Staff super nice.

Hotel needs a makeover. Too many insects on the 12th floor room and very outdated. Customer service was below average. Pool and water park was best park.

Hotel has lots of potential, but not quite there y

Posted Aug 20, 2017
Hotel was dated in need of updates. Room was nice but had a musty smell and bathroom had mildew. Many things were closed and not working like the arcade, walkway and fountains. It is a really neat place to stay and I would consider returning in the future when updates are made and renvations are completed.
