Wonderful management!

Posted Oct 2, 2016
Pros: The friendliness of the management as well as the convenient parking. With free internet and outdoor pool, the perfect spot for the price.
Location: Indiana Beach resort is just two miles up the road, making this the perfect economical place to stay.
They are friendly and willing to do anything to make your stay great. Rooms are very clean and being able to park right in front of your room is convenient. Price is great for the resort area. I will stay here again.

The bathroom OK The bedroom smelled like a wet dog

Posted Aug 26, 2016
Pros: Friendly staff and clean bathrooms
Cons: Dont let guests bring pets into the rooms? Get a WiFi Router that is rated for the maximum number of guests or beds in the motel. More power plugins.
Location: Indiana Beach Amusement Resort in town
The bathroom was nice and clean. The bedroom however, smelled like a wet dog and I was fortunate to have brought along a bottle of Febreeze to spray down the beds and carpeting. The top power outlet plugin between the beds was front door switch controlled, and I wished it was the bottom power plugin to make it easier for guests to use the TOP plugin for laptop and cell phone chargers so they dont shut off power when someone turns off the bed lamps using the main entry door switch. The AC unit was in the back of the room by the bathroom and had about a half inch gap around both sides and the top that you could see daylight through and could let bugs into the room as well as lose some cooling efficiency. The WiFi signal strength varied, causing a sudden loss of connectivity. Other than that noted, the beds were comfy...

Monticello Inn night away

The front desk person was very curtious and it was very peaceful. They were in the middle of renovating but the room was very clean and they assisted me anytime i needed something without question.

Impossible to find the hotel in the dark

Posted Oct 5, 2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: Lights outside. A clerk 24/7.
Location: Purdue University at about 25 min drive
The hotel has no lights, so you won't find it at night. I arrived and the hotel was closed, even thou I had a reservation.

Only stayed because I was desparate

Posted Sep 27, 2015
Cons: Monticello Inn needs to be sold or cut prices by 75%. There isn't anything this current owner could likely do.
Couldn't sleep all night due to the constant vehicles coming and going, and the neighboring rooms having loud conversations & banging until 4am. The first tip should have been the faded broken down Uhaul truck at the entrance. The second tip should have been the rudely typed note on the checkin clipboard "Yes ! I do need your car license #". The third tip should have been when the mgr said she didn't have my reservation from Expedia, but luckily had only 1 room left (but the 2nd room she gave me ended up not having a working shower - which I didn't discover until the next morning - so clearly she doesn't have anything at all for nightly rentals). The fourth tip should have been the room door being partly open upon arrival, the strong cat urine smell, and dirty linens in the tub. The fifth tip should have been the seemingly harmless adults watching a guy repair his truck engine. All night long I was scared to even look outside or call the manager because I was a woman alone in the middle of no-where. The only good thing was that the room I ended up in was clean and closer to the office - despite no working shower.

The "Bates Motel" of Monticello, Indiana

Posted Sep 20, 2015
Pros: No a blessed thing.
Cons: Room cleanliness, temperature control, smell of the room.
Location: We ate at a really nice McDonald's.
Upon arriving at the motel the first thing we saw was a sign that said there was to be no parking in front of the office. The next sign we saw told us this was a "No Smoking" facility but the haze and cigarette smell in the office told us otherwise. The box of used plastic tubing used when giving a breathing treatments that was on the floor should have told us to leave there and then. Our room, No. 124, was right next to the soda dispensing machine. We opened the door and were met with a warm, stale air smell, you get when you open a long closed-up room. My wife tried using a spray air freshener but that didn't help. I turned on the in-the-wall air conditioning unit to start cooling off the room and went into the bathroom to wash my hands. The sink at first drained slowly, then not at all and then something floated up from the drain. The bottom of bathtub was "peeling". The carpet needed a good cleaning and the night stand between the two beds had been warped by too much of "something" wet being left on it - the top was not level. My wife and I quickly went out to get a sandwich and give the room time to cool down. We returned in approximately 30 minutes to find the room even warmer than when we first left. The air conditioning unit was throwing out hot air and a bad smell. At this point we repacked our car and I then went to the office to check out and request a refund. No refund was given, "It's not our policy," was the answer given by the check in person.

You don't always get what you pay for

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Price and location
Cons: Maintenance and cleaning of the rooms, and putting an air freshener in the lobby- it stunk of stale cigarettes.
Location: It was 10 minutes to Indiana Beach and delicious restaurants
The women who checked us in was very nice, but I was disappointed with our room. I understand that it was the cheapest motel in town, but in the morning when I was making sure we weren't leaving anything behind, I found a dirty pair of panties crumbled up in the corner next to the bed from a previous customer. Also, the drain in the tub was clogged so the water was not draining after we showered. There was nobody in the lobby for us to talk to so we had to leave a note on a menu and put it on the counter.

Hotel Stay

Posted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It needs to be remodeled.
Location: It was 20 miles from I-65 so nothing was close. It had 3 nearby towns with no night life at all.
The overall experience was totally disappointing from beginning (online reservations) to the end (stay at hotel) I cannot believe a 7B Company would endorse a small hotel. We had reserved a room with a queen bed, when we arrived, there were no queen bed rooms available. My son and I stayed in a non smoking room that wreaked of cigarette smoke. My sons allergies kicked in and he hacked all night because of the cigarette smoke. Website also advertised a pool that was closed. It did not have a breakfast bar and the rooms looked terrible; walls had holes in them and all they had was small size soap. Rugs were smelly and stained. Overall experience from 1-10, I give them a 1.
