A Mistake

Pros: The fairly large room
Cons: Somebody to be on duty
Location: Good central location
I had booked this hotel without looking at other reviews. When I saw them, I quickly called back--ten minutes after I had booked it--but no refund was available. I told them I could not stay there, but they said nothing could be done. Expedia tried calling them, but got the same answer. That was a Saturday, and Expedia said they would call the manager on Monday (when I would already be in Montreal at another hotel). But I never heard from Expedia again. I stayed in another hotel for one night, quite pleasantly, booked it for my return four days later. But when I returned, they said there had been a mistake, and all rooms were taken. Next door was Hotel Des Arts, and they had a room on the top floor. The room was fine (though no telephone), nobody was at the reservation desk ever, others were knocking at my door in middle of the night. But my sleep was okay

Its nice for short stay...free continental breakfast but no water to drink...coffee serve 24hrs, clean room

Nice hotel close to downtown Montreal

This hotel was better than I expected. Got a king room for an exceptional price. It was very spacious and clean and we had a non smoking room with a decent view. I just thought this room would have a fridge, but that was my mistake. Not sure if you can request one.

Low price, well located, decent hotel

Pros: Low price, good location, nice staff.
Cons: The only thing that might be a problem to some is the poor sound-proof. I could hear the car pass in the street and the noises in the corridor.
This is not a great hotel, but given the price, location and overall experience, I liked what I got for the price I paid. Included breakfast is a nice plus and will do great for a couple of days.

Great location, awful hotel

From the hordes of ants crawling through the lobby, an overwhelming stench of old cigarette smoke and mould to cigarette burns on the comforters, grime in the bathtub... we were pretty disgusted. The hotel offers zero parking for guests other than a 24 hour lot a good 10 min walk down a large hill ($21), not an overly friendly staff. Thank god there were no bedbugs... but you can bet your butt we checked thoroughly after seeing the condition lol. We would pay extra next time to avoid staying here.

Suitable only for budget travelers

The accommodations themselves were acceptable, but the walls have little to none soundproofing and the sheets are dubiously clean. The carpet was also stained, and the pillows are most definitely lumpy. I had trouble sleeping due to noise from both outside and upstairs, and my back is still sore from the pillows. The staff members were very welcoming and warm, though, so this may be a good budget hotel but probably not one for vacationers. Also, the location of the hotel is in one of the more underdeveloped areas of Montreal (surrounded by clubs, garbage, etc.) and is a 10 minute walk away from the closest airport shuttle stop. I personally would not recommend this place to families with children or people traveling alone.

Hotel Refused to Refund My Stay

I am really frustrated with this hotel because they refused to support me with either rebooking for another time or refunding my 5 night stay. Really poor service.

Excellent location and friendly staff

Pros: Location, staff and breakfast.
Cons: The room probably needs some renovation. Clean the floor thoroughly to remove any odor if possible.
Location: Walking distance to China town, Basilique Notre Dame, old Montreal area and etc. Many restaurants and bars nearby too.
The hotel has excellent location and friendly staff, plus the price is not bad. Free wifi and breakfast are included and coffee is free all day. I really like the breakfast bagel. The only thing bothering me is the smell of the room. Don't take me wrong. The staff cleans the room on daily basis, but somehow the smell stays. That said, I still believe it is good for the price given what's included. Just need to manage the expectation accordingly.

The hotel has excellent location and friendly staff. The price was not bad either, $50 USD per night with free wifi and breakfast. The only thing bothering me is the smell of the room. Don't take me wrong. They do have daily room service to clean the room but somewhat the smell stays. That said, I still think it is good for the price given what's included. Just need to manage the expectation accordingly.
