Great value!

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Pros: price, cleanliness, location
Cons: nothing
Location: downtown location--walking distance to everything you want to see in Montreal--Notre Dame Basilica, port area, Old Montreal, shopping
It was difficult to find a place to stay to visit Montreal with a family of 4 without paying an enormous amount for two nights for a room, but I found I could with Travelodge downtown. Although this room was very small (true to the reviews), it was immaculate and served our purpose of sleeping. It also included a wonderful free breakfast spread above and beyond what I had thought--this was more than a continental breakfast and served our family well to start each day. The reviews were a bit confusing on the parking at the hotel, but we happened to check in with the hotel early (about 2:30) and were able to secure a parking spot for $25 a day. It is true that there are only 30 parking spots, so checking in early is good advice to be able to secure one. Once you have a spot, it is yours for the duration of your stay. Also true to the reviews, is that there is parking close by in other garages. I was very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. I had stayed within the past two months at another Travelodge in my travels to the south west of the U.S. and its condition was so horrid that I swore I would never stay at another one. Travelodge Montreal completely changed my mind. It was an extremely pleasant surprise in that it was quite modern, immaculately clean everywhere, you were always greeted by extremely pleasant and knowledgeable staff, and it was always nice to have refreshing fruit infused water waiting for you as you entered the hotel from your daily adventures.

Dorm Room Review

Posted Jun 5, 2017
Pros: location
Cons: everything
Location: location was the only one thing positive about this "hotel"
Very disappointing experience from start to finish. The rooms are uncomfortably small, look nothing like the picture, and many other things that I dont have the time to rant about.

Good location

Room had an odd smell to it and the beds (there were two) were not near each other. TV was quite small. Breakfast was adequate not much choice.

Stay at the Travel Lodge

Posted May 29, 2017
Pros: Location, staff and breakfast
Cons: I think we could have been warned about how small the room was when we were booking.
The hotel is well situated and very convenient. Staff were helpful and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was good with lots of healthy options and a very comfortable venue. My only complaint is the room was very small but given we did not spend much time there it worked fine. I would stay here again.

In the middle of things, no frills hotel

Posted May 24, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Parked at the mall nearby (5min walk) first night because no parking left (<30 spots for the whole hotel...)
No frills, limited parking spots available, included breakfast is basic with very limited options to purchase.

Good location, good price, you get what you pay 4

Posted May 23, 2017
Pros: Location, it was perfect.
Cons: Room sizes, PLEASE
Location: Location is perfect! And almost everything you wanna see in Montreal is around the area, or very easily accessible using public transit
I booked two 4-person rooms and one 2-person room. The rooms are as tiny as they can get. It was hard to get two people to walk across the room at the same time, it was THAT tiny. No mini fridge and we needed one. I requested one and was told it was $10 a night, but they didn't end up charging for it at the end. Beds are comfy enough. They offer free breakfast though. Location is perfect too, very close to everything we wanted. I'd suggest not to buy a parking pass at the hotel. There's a parking lot at the Desjardin building just a few meters down the street, we paid $22 for all the long weekend and that's what costed one night at the hotel parking lot.
